What has OKLink done to shine in the political and legal system?
Chain Insight has assisted police in over 30 provinces and cities including Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Shandong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang in solving multiple cryptocurrency crime cases, successfully recovering assets worth tens of billions of yuan.

On July 28, the 2021 National Conference on Intelligent Construction of Political and Legal Systems, along with its exhibition of technology, equipment, and achievements, successfully concluded at the Beijing National Convention Center. Organized by China's Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission-affiliated newspaper *Legal Daily* and the Beijing Security & Protection Industry Association, and co-hosted by China Police Net and Faan.com, the event received support from central and local political-legal institutions.
The exhibition served dual purposes: showcasing new technological applications and mature solutions, while also providing a platform for experience exchange and technical collaboration between political-legal agencies and tech enterprises.
Notably, OKLink Group attended the opening ceremony as the only corporate representative alongside senior officials from the CCDI驻Ministry of Justice Inspection Team, and the Publicity and Education Bureau of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission.
Established in 2013, OKLink Group has long been dedicated to blockchain technology research and commercialization. In 2020 alone, it won multiple awards including Best Security Service Provider, Most Influential Information Technology Service Platform, and Best Data Service Provider.
Moreover, as early as 2020, OKLink joined hands with companies such as Baidu, Qihoo, and Xiaomi to help establish the first anti-money laundering standard for blockchain industry applications, earning widespread recognition.
Even so, many still wonder: Why was OKLink the only company invited to appear at the political-legal system conference’s opening? And why has its product drawn such significant attention? To answer this, we need to look back at one particular product—ChainEye.
ChainEye Makes Its Mark
ChainEye is the world's first free-to-all chain data monitoring and transaction behavior visualization tool launched by OKLink Group. By deeply analyzing massive volumes of on-chain data and continuously tracking transactions—combined with an existing database of over hundreds of millions of address tags—it provides users with visual tools like transaction graphs, address analysis, and on-chain monitoring, ultimately reconstructing the full trail of clues behind any transaction.
At first glance, this tool may not seem trendy or aligned with current hot topics like the metaverse. However, it offers powerful technical support to the political-legal system in combating cryptocurrency-related crimes.
At the exhibition, ChainEye attracted attention from official legal media outlets such as China Police Net and Legal.com. The reason lies in its ability to assist law enforcement in solving difficulties related to tracing, investigating, collecting evidence, and aggregating leads in on-chain transactions. At the same time, it helps ordinary users whose assets are under threat—users can check their own transfer records via ChainEye, extract relevant clues, and directly submit them when filing reports, thereby significantly improving police efficiency.
According to earlier reporting by Xinhua News Agency, ChainEye has already assisted police in over 30 provinces and cities—including Inner Mongolia, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Shandong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang—in cracking numerous cryptocurrency crime cases, successfully recovering more than 10 billion yuan (approximately $1.5 billion) in assets.
Beyond supporting local law enforcement in solving crypto-related crimes, OKLink has also launched cybersecurity training programs and public education initiatives.
In June this year, the ChainEye team delivered an online training session titled "ChainEye in Action: Cryptocurrency Regulation and Crime Analysis" on China’s largest self-directed online learning platform for police officers. Real-time data showed that hundreds of thousands of registered officers participated in the session.
In July, supported by institutions such as Jinan Municipal Public Security Bureau, Peking University Laboratory of Network Information Security, and Beijing Deheng Law Firm, OKLink held the "National Cybersecurity and Blockchain Intelligence Analysis Training" in Jinan. During the event, it jointly established the "Oudun ChainEye Security Lab" with Nanjing Public Security Research Institute, focusing on technological innovation addressing digital city development, social governance, and emerging crime response.
Of course, ChainEye is not OKLink’s only product. The group has also developed several comprehensive blockchain tools such as the OKLink Browser, ChainEye Pro, and ChainHub (ChainMaster), which bring convenience to both industry players and government departments—and generate substantial revenue for OKLink.
According to OKLink Holdings' annual report for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021, the company achieved total revenue of HK$453 million, with blockchain technology services contributing an additional HK$28 million—a 15% year-on-year increase—making it a key growth engine for the business.
Reflecting on the original motivation behind developing ChainEye and similar products, Zhang Chao, Vice President of OKLink Group, said that in the past two years, global incidents involving cryptocurrency have noticeably increased. Through assisting police investigations, OKLink found that without specialized tools, relying solely on blockchain browsers made handling complex transaction paths extremely difficult due to the intricate nature of on-chain information and high difficulty in clue aggregation. Thus, in September last year, they integrated these capabilities into a streamlined, efficient tool—"ChainEye"—which they opened freely to all users. The goal was to enhance industry transparency, make it easier for law enforcement to combat new forms of digital currency crime, and better safeguard national financial security and people's property.
Penetrating the Government System: What Has Changed and What Remains Unchanged at OKLink
As Zhang Chao noted, in recent years, with the growth and expanding influence of the blockchain industry, malicious incidents such as hacker thefts, ransom payments, darknet trading, online gambling, pyramid schemes, Ponzi schemes, money laundering, and project team absconding have surged, with increasingly sophisticated and hard-to-trace methods.
Recent data published by *China Discipline Inspection and Supervision Newspaper*, the official publication of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, shows that through precise identification and crackdowns on money laundering channels, asset recovery reached as high as 15.15 billion yuan ($2.34 billion) in the first half of this year alone. This figure hints at the enormous scale of global new economic crimes annually.
In response, national efforts have remained relentless.
On February 24, the International Fugitive Hunt and Asset Recovery Office under the Central Anti-Corruption Coordination Group convened a meeting to implement the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, deploying the 2021 anti-corruption fugitive hunt and asset recovery work and launching the “Sky Net 2021” operation. The campaign requires local authorities to prioritize supervision over recent escape cases involving county-level or higher officials, large case amounts, serious political impact, and strong public complaints—sending a clear signal that determination, resolve, and strictness will not waver.
To tackle the growing number and evolving tactics of cryptocurrency crimes, OKLink Group has further strengthened its investment in security. Beyond nationwide police training and the public-oriented "Xingtou Plan" salons to popularize blockchain knowledge, it has rolled out its flagship product—ChainEye Pro.
ChainEye Pro is an upgraded version of ChainEye, integrating innovations from the OKLink blockchain browser and ChainEye. It is the world's first product to "deeply integrate investigative methodologies with blockchain big data."
Specifically, based on on-chain data and supported by big data governance technologies, ChainEye Pro leverages machine learning, data modeling, similarity algorithms, and other key techniques. It integrates hundreds of billions of on-chain addresses and transaction records, applying traditional economic crime investigation tactics to cryptocurrency cases. By combining various decision-making analysis methods and investigative logic, it enables investigators to quickly grasp details about investigated cases, addresses, fund flows, relational networks, and transaction behaviors.
An insider from OKLink told TechFlow that because ChainEye Pro was designed with a foundational framework covering pre-warning, real-time monitoring, post-event traceability, and standard-setting, it is more convenient and user-friendly. As an investigative tool, ChainEye Pro recently helped law enforcement crack a digital asset theft case involving tens of millions of yuan.
Certainly, beyond assisting in fighting cryptocurrency-related crimes, ChainEye Pro's blockchain technology is also applied to address security risks inherent in native blockchain applications—such as private key leaks, account hijacking, DDoS attacks, protocol vulnerabilities, smart contract flaws, and application software bugs.
According to a CipherTrace report, DeFi-related crimes have sharply risen this year, with stolen funds totaling $432 million between January and April—setting a new record. Helping practitioners active on-chain who face security threats remains a core mission of OKLink Group.
In line with market evolution, OKLink has gradually expanded its blockchain big data product suite—completing mainstream public chain browsers, launching ChainHub (ChainMaster), and enhancing its data portal ecosystem.
More specifically, starting August 2019, OKLink began building what would become a globally leading blockchain browser. In April 2020, it launched multi-dimensional on-chain data statistics.
In May, it started developing address analysis, transaction tracing, on-chain monitoring, and an address tagging database;
In July, it released the world’s first blockchain browser WeChat Mini Program, launched the DASH browser, and added DeFi sector data analytics;
In August, it launched the Baidu Mini Program for its blockchain browser, adding statistical functions for BCH, BSV, LTC, and ETH chains;
In September, it launched ChainEye and added contract verification functionality for the ETH browser;
In November, it upgraded OKLink ChainEye, adding ETH and USDT support, followed by the launch of the OKLink Academy tag feature in January 2021.
In June, it introduced NFT and Polkadot ecosystem专题sections and launched the Tron browser; in July, it unveiled China’s first panoramic on-chain data analysis tool, ChainHub (ChainMaster), and launched OKLink’s Polkadot browser.
Through these continuous efforts, OKLink is striving to build a one-stop blockchain data portal ecosystem, while steadily accumulating technical reserves for the development and application of domestic blockchain technology. This ongoing commitment reflects persistence—but what lies behind this perseverance?
Perhaps it is the unwavering初心—to safeguard industry security, national financial stability, and the interests of users and professionals—that has driven OKLink since its inception. It is precisely this unchanging mission that empowers them to confidently adapt to constant change.
