As Wall Street's liquidity gates slowly open, crypto products gain new entry points, regulatory thaw creates room for innovation, and surging coin prices ignite market enthusiasm, the crypto industry is entering its golden age. Exchanges, as the first gateway for users to access the crypto world, have become the most fiercely contested battleground.
In this noisy arena, Bitget has carved out a unique growth path over seven years: starting with copy trading to establish user awareness through differentiation; then deepening its presence in derivatives, building a solid moat in professionalism and product strength; now advancing toward UEX (Universal Exchange) positioning, gradually evolving from a contract-focused platform into a comprehensive exchange. Through this journey, Bitget has transformed from an obscure challenger into one of the top three global exchanges, surpassing 120 million registered users and operating in over 200 countries and regions, becoming a pillar of the industry. Its growth story is not just about strategic moves and execution—it also mirrors the evolutionary logic of the crypto industry itself.
On the occasion of Bitget’s seventh anniversary, PANews interviewed Bitget executives, clients, partners, and KOLs, painting a multi-perspective picture of how Bitget continuously breaks through and innovates amid market cycles and industry shifts, shaping a distinctive and human-centric platform identity and growth philosophy.
The Foundation of Seven Years: Two Key Figures Behind Bitget
After seven years, Bitget is no longer inexperienced but has matured into a seasoned player in this emerging industry. Gracy and Xie Jiayin are pivotal figures in Bitget’s growth—driven by sharp strategic vision on one side, and grounded in frontline user engagement with empathy on the other.
Gracy carries a cross-industry profile reminiscent of Binance’s He Yi—formerly a TV host with entrepreneurial experience. In 2022, she made a career shift into Web3, joining Bitget as Managing Director when the company was expanding into new markets. Two years later, she was promoted to CEO of Bitget.
Xie Jiayin joined the team as Head of Chinese Markets, drawn by Bitget’s potential and dynamism. He frequently engages directly with the community, listening firsthand to user needs and feedback, always prioritizing user experience.
2022 was a year of industry-wide crisis—and a turning point for Bitget.
Ahead of the World Cup, crypto firms were locked in a battle for sports marketing dominance. Under Gracy’s leadership, Bitget successfully secured Lionel Messi as brand ambassador. When Messi lifted the World Cup trophy in Qatar, Bitget’s brand visibility surged beyond niche crypto circles into mainstream awareness.
Yet after the spotlight faded, disaster struck. Later that year, FTX collapsed, shaking the entire industry and driving user trust to rock bottom. Gracy recalled in her interview with PANews that she and her team responded swiftly—publicly releasing Proof of Reserves (PoR) and establishing a $300 million User Protection Fund (now grown to $700 million), second only to Binance in scale. These actions stabilized operations while earning Bitget significant traffic and user trust.
Indeed, crises serve as critical tests of a platform’s true character. Beyond its rapid response to FTX’s collapse, Bitget demonstrated responsibility during multiple industry emergencies, further showcasing its sense of duty and humanity to users.
Gracy recounted that in 2023, when the Solana MEME project SLERF lost funds due to operational errors, many who pledged donations failed to deliver. Bitget, however, honored its donation commitment, winning community trust. In subsequent years, Bitget continued this ethos—when Bybit suffered a hack in 2025, Bitget provided 40,000 ETH in liquidity support at no cost, stating clearly: “Hackers are our common enemy.”
In a sector where user migration costs are high, Bitget maintains user retention and loyalty not only through efficient, precise, and reliable token listing capabilities (especially in innovation zones and on-chain trading), but also through trust and emotional connection. As Xie Jiayin explained, placing user interests first is Bitget’s core value. For example, during the July 2025 launch of Pump.fun tokens, most exchanges saw users fail to mint due to technical congestion. Bitget abandoned the “first-come, first-served” model and instead adopted an inclusive distribution mechanism to ensure fair participation for all, earning widespread community approval.
Ni Sen’s experience confirms this warmth is real. In his interview with PANews, he recalled that before Xie Jiayin joined, he wasn’t a Bitget user. Xie personally walked him through platform details and advised consistent dollar-cost averaging, helping him deeply understand the trust relationship between platform and user. The professionalism and patience of frontline staff fostered Ni Sen’s deeper identification with Bitget, leading him to gradually adopt and use the platform.
Still, Ni Sen emphasized that compliance is essential for any exchange. Only platforms truly accountable to users and their assets will earn lasting recognition and support.
To navigate regulatory changes and market cycles, Bitget adheres to compliance-first principles and long-term thinking to build durable user trust. In 2024, the platform significantly strengthened its compliance and legal teams—including appointing Hon Ng, former General Counsel of Binance, as Chief Legal Officer—and maintained close dialogue with regulators across multiple jurisdictions. Organizationally, Bitget maintains a lean team of around 2,000 people, emphasizing results-driven culture and open communication, while continuously innovating in AI trading tools, on-chain integration, and new payment scenarios to remain battle-ready amid rapid industry evolution.
Gracy and Xie Jiayin embody Bitget’s global strategic foresight and human-centered values. Gracy drives Bitget’s rise amid crisis and leads in innovation with bold vision; Xie ensures every user feels fairness and warmth. Anchored in user trust and driven by product innovation, Bitget embraces a marathon mindset, positioning itself as a long-term player in the crypto industry.
From CEX to UEX: Launching a New Era of Universal Trading
As a relative latecomer among crypto exchanges, Bitget’s growth stems from consistent incremental progress and differentiated product innovation.
In his interview with PANews, Xie Jiayin said that early on, Bitget entered the market via copy trading, quickly building user reputation through experienced traders leading trades and fair profit-sharing. Subsequently, Bitget’s derivatives trading volume grew rapidly, rising to become the third-largest derivatives exchange globally by 2025, with monthly derivatives volume exceeding $600 billion. With the rise of on-chain trading, Bitget was among the first exchanges to allow users to purchase on-chain assets using exchange funds—and is set for a major upgrade soon, potentially becoming the first platform to support full-asset coverage across major public chains.
Moreover, Bitget demonstrates strong market sensitivity by offering customized services for different user types. It optimizes wealth management products for institutional clients seeking stable returns, while providing retail investors with access to MEME coins and high-yield opportunities, along with AI-powered trading assistants like GetAgent to aid decision-making. As Xie put it: “Whatever users need, Bitget strives to deliver.”
With traditional players entering the space and DEXs continuously evolving, CEXs face growing internal and external pressures. To address this, Bitget introduced the concept of the Universal Exchange (UEX)—integrating the seamless experience, deep liquidity, and professional tools of CEXs with DEX-like full-chain asset coverage on a single platform. This enables full-scenario trading under a unified security framework, solving the so-called “impossible triangle” of user experience, asset breadth, and advanced tools.
Gracy stated that she believes this is the direction all exchanges are striving toward. UEX allows users to enjoy the convenience of centralized trading while directly accessing all on-chain assets. In the future, traditional high-quality assets such as stocks, gold, and forex could also be traded directly on UEX. Additionally, UEX will integrate AI technology and industry security practices to elevate trading intelligence and safety to new levels.
BGB’s Value Evolution: From Pickaxe to Ecosystem Hub
As Bitget’s ecosystem matures, its platform token BGB is quietly transforming in role and significance.
Recently, Bitget announced an exclusive strategic partnership with the Morph blockchain, upgrading BGB from a utility token to a core triad asset spanning exchange, wallet, and public chain—becoming the central hub of the Bitget ecosystem.
To investors, BGB is more than an asset—it symbolizes the value of the Bitget ecosystem. Daniel, a BGB holder, praised Bitget’s trading experience and decided to dollar-cost average into BGB due to the platform’s counter-cyclical expansion efforts—such as acquiring BitKeep, signing Messi, and expanding into new markets—calling BGB a “digital pickaxe, a cycle-resilient benchmark, and a long-term value token.” Another holder, Moon, echoed similar views, saying Bitget’s rigorous project screening, compliance investments, and management’s emphasis on risk education reshaped his investment philosophy, shifting him toward long-term BGB holding.
BGB’s market recognition is closely tied to Bitget’s business performance. AB noted in the interview that Bitget’s futures business generates significantly higher revenue than spot or listing operations, which is a key reason he remains bullish on BGB. Ni Sen highlighted BGB’s “pickaxe” nature, enabling him to benefit substantially from platform empowerment.
Security and wealth generation are crucial factors in earning user trust. AB pointed out that even if a platform lags in marketing, it can still attract loyal users if it is secure and delivers real financial gains—the hierarchy being: Security > Wealth Generation > Product Experience > Marketing. Moreover, whether a community manager is approachable and genuine is also a key indicator of an exchange’s cooperation value.
Investor expectations for BGB’s future center on utility and competitiveness. Holder Daniel hopes Bitget will expand mining activities like PoolX and Launchpool, increase fee discount rates, and introduce tiered agent benefits to reward long-term holders. Moon, another BGB holder, focuses on expanding BGB’s on-chain use cases, believing that increased real-world demand will strengthen the token’s intrinsic value foundation.
From trading tool to on-chain value carrier, and now to ecosystem hub, BGB’s role upgrade marks a comprehensive evolution in its asset attributes and value capture mechanics—leaving ample room for future imagination.
Service and Expertise: The Trust Formula That Wins Big Clients
In the crypto industry, products and technology represent “hard power,” while service and professionalism constitute “soft power.” Bitget’s rapid growth owes much to sustained investment in these soft capabilities—earning trust across channel partners, VIP users, institutional clients, and KOLs.
Renowned trader Tianqing has been a long-time Bitget user. For him, the primary criterion in choosing an exchange is “security and emergency response capability.” But what truly made him stay was Bitget’s human-centric service. “As a trader, I need customized promotional materials to boost my personal influence. Bitget not only proactively creates them for me but adjusts based on my requests—this feeling of being valued is rare.” He also praised Bitget’s technical strengths: “Deep liquidity, rich trading tools, leading AI-assisted strategies, and copy trading—all make complex and high-frequency operations much smoother.”
Channel partner Long Shaoye’s collaboration with Bitget resembles mutual support between old friends. “In this industry, many partnerships are one-off deals, but Bitget is different—whether it’s user issues or partner needs, they always respond. This efficiency and care make us willing to collaborate long-term.” Long also commended Bitget’s localization strategy in emerging markets: “Their tech innovation is flexible and helps us quickly enter growth markets, achieving win-win outcomes.”
For high-volume VIP users, service quality and reliability are paramount—they need a trustworthy financial partner. RU and YJ are representative examples. They were deeply impressed by Bitget’s sense of responsibility during critical moments—such as the BGB price spike incident in October last year, when Bitget promptly compensated all token holders, including futures users: “This is a truly user-responsible exchange.” Meanwhile, tools like Launchpool have provided VIP users with steady returns: “This yield optimization makes long-term holding far more rewarding.”
Ampersand CEO Daniel Ku also holds Bitget in high regard: “Bitget’s robust API infrastructure and deep liquidity pools are the backbone of our high-frequency trading strategies.” To Daniel, Bitget’s trustworthiness lies not only in technical stability but also in the team’s rapid response to feedback and continuous innovation—giving him confidence in future collaboration. For institutions like his, gaining edge in volatile markets requires an exchange with high reliability, deep liquidity, and competitive fees. Bitget not only meets but exceeds these expectations.
Similarly, Fibonacci Capital CEO Alex Iugai stressed that institutions prioritize three key factors when selecting an exchange: liquidity depth, API stability, and retail traffic quality. He believes Bitget excels in all areas. Even in bear markets, Bitget adopts a different strategy—raising standards and requirements to foster a healthy, authentic ecosystem. This holistic advantage is why institutions choose Bitget over others.
Daniel and Alex particularly appreciate Bitget’s innovation and customization: “Bitget offers strong security and responsive support, and is willing to innovate based on our needs—this gives us confidence to continue partnering.”
YouTube creator “Billionaire-Making Plan” gave a unique reason: Bitget is “aesthetically pleasing”—not just about visual design, but a recognition of brand tone and overall product experience. Reflecting on the collaboration, he described the synergy as resembling a K-line steadily climbing through volatility. For him, crypto exchanges are no longer mere trading tools but are increasingly becoming carriers of market trust and financial infrastructure. What users truly care about is finding a place they can rely on in times of crisis—one that provides answers. Bitget stands out with its sincerity: “Every matter gets resolved, every request receives a reply, every issue is addressed.” This attitude delivers the very sense of security users seek.
Toward the Next 7 Years: A Marathon Plan for the Crypto Growth Era
From niche markets to a key component of mainstream finance, the crypto landscape is being rewritten. The role of exchanges has evolved far beyond simple buy-sell gateways into comprehensive platforms that continuously upgrade alongside market expansion.
KOL “Billionaire-Making Plan” used a vivid metaphor: the past seven years were like building a ship, with early participants acting as dockworkers pulling it into the sea. The next seven years, the ship will truly sail into open waters—facing storms and sirens, cheers and farewells—but ultimately setting sail. Compliance will be the dominant theme.
AB, Ni Sen, and Alex believe that accelerated convergence between crypto and traditional finance will make digital assets standard components of global investment portfolios. Exchanges are evolving into institutional-grade service providers and global liquidity hubs. Daniel added that collapses and hacks have forced exchanges to improve security and governance.
Regarding Bitget’s plan for the next seven years, Gracy reiterated the UEX vision—not only merging the strengths of on-chain and centralized systems to offer users greater openness, but also pushing technological innovation such as AI products, and integrating crypto into daily life through real-world applications like Visa cards. In her interview, she stated plainly: “Bitget has already transcended the boundaries of a traditional centralized exchange, evolving into the world’s first universal exchange. I firmly believe the future of finance won’t be a zero-sum game between CEX, DEX, and traditional finance, but a new era of boundary-breaking connectivity.”
Xie Jiayin focuses on sustaining “warmth”: “I hope Bitget builds a warm, human-centric brand image, focusing on empowering the BGB token, derivatives trading, institutional and VIP services, and enhancing user belonging.”
Community voices have offered constructive suggestions for exchange development—such as improving yields, offering customized solutions for varying risk appetites, strengthening compliance and tools, prioritizing investor education, boosting community interaction, and optimizing onboarding experiences. In short, exchanges must meet the yield and tool demands of professionals while supporting newcomers’ education and experience. As Ni Sen put it, the core of platform development is simple: “Put users first.”
Looking ahead, industry consensus is clearer. Xie believes today’s crypto industry resembles the internet in 2000—still in exploration phase—but will thrive in the next decade thanks to institutional adoption, regulation, and talent. Gracy predicts some small nations may abandon their local currencies in favor of USD stablecoins, and Bitcoin could exceed $1 million in value, with market cap surpassing gold.
Clearly, the crypto vessel is sailing toward deeper waters. Though no one can predict every storm, Bitget’s secret to the long run lies in infusing every transaction with warmth and professionalism.
