Klip and Kaia Wallet will roll out the feature within the coming days and weeks respectively.
Kaia DLT Foundation (Kaia) has partnered with Oobit, a digital asset payment gateway infrastructure app, to launch Kaia-based Tap-to-Pay and online payment functionalities. This marks the first Tap-to-Pay payment solution on the Kaia network. Users in South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines will soon be able to make seamless purchases using USDT and $KAIA on the Kaia network without switching applications.
Critically, transactions run seamlessly through existing Visa terminals, meaning merchants do not need to replace their current POS systems or register on additional platforms. For merchants, it’s business as usual: no new hardware, extra contracts, or training required.
The feature supports all Kaia-based wallets, including Klip and Kaia Wallet, allowing users to pay directly within their wallet's native interface. The Klip integration will go live in the coming days, followed by Kaia Wallet within the coming weeks.
Oobit’s app uses NFC technology to enable Tap-to-Pay payments at physical stores with Visa-compatible POS systems, delivering a seamless cryptocurrency payment experience and lowering user barriers. The key advantage of this technology is that it simplifies operations for both merchants and users. Merchants receive funds in fiat currency, while the conversion from crypto to fiat happens in real time in the background.
While Oobit is known for its Tap-to-Pay functionality, the platform has also expanded its online payment capabilities, offering users a comprehensive solution for both in-store and online cryptocurrency transactions.
"I'm excited that Kaia users can now leverage digital assets on Kaia across the vast Visa and online payment networks through Oobit’s tap-to-pay application," said Dr. Sam Seo, Chairman of the Kaia DLT Foundation. "Kaia will collaborate with Oobit to pioneer hybrid payments powered by digital assets, serving as many consumers as possible and providing more diverse asset options."
"Cryptocurrency payments must be as simple as swiping a card or tapping your phone—and now they are," said Amram Adar, CEO of Oobit. "Starting with Asia’s most active crypto markets, by natively embedding Kaia wallets into the crypto payment experience, we’re delivering a low-barrier way for millions of users to use digital assets in daily life."
With its recent collaboration with Tether, USDT has officially been integrated into the LINE ecosystem, which boasts over 196 million users. Users can now conveniently use USDT for payments, peer-to-peer transfers, and DeFi services via Mini Dapps within the LINE app. This move brings stablecoins into everyday transaction experiences through one of Asia’s largest digital ecosystems.
Tether supports Oobit in driving cryptocurrency adoption into everyday use cases across Asia. South Korea, Vietnam, and Japan are key markets fueling this growth. Oobit is currently working to expand this vision into more countries and markets across the Asia-Pacific region. As an Asia-centric blockchain, Kaia has become an essential part of Oobit’s regional expansion. Kaia is growing rapidly—averaging 13.6 million transactions per week, with over 6 million users joining in July 2025 alone.
Likewise, native support for Klip will help Oobit’s infrastructure achieve plug-and-play readiness across Asia, a crucial strategic move given that, according to Binance data, 25% of South Koreans aged 20 to 50 already own crypto assets.
