This year marks a significant milestone in the development of the Ethereum ecosystem. At the end of July, the Ethereum mainnet celebrated its 10th anniversary, and in August, Etherscan, a vital component of the Ethereum ecosystem, also reached its tenth anniversary.
To commemorate this occasion, Etherscan launched a points campaign, sparking widespread speculation within the community about whether it might issue a token at this pivotal moment.
Etherscan Service Matrix
Etherscan is a Web3 blockchain explorer platform focused on search, API, and analytics services. Established in August 2015 around Ethereum and its community, it is one of the earliest and longest-running independent projects. Its core value lies in providing users with fair access to blockchain data, enabling them to easily explore critical information such as block details, transaction records, and smart contract code.
Over the years, Etherscan's service offerings have continuously expanded.
In addition to basic block browsing functionality, it provides API services, smart contract verification, gas fee tracking (Gas Tracker), and a labeling system, among other practical tools.
Meanwhile, the blockchain networks it supports have extended beyond Ethereum into a multi-chain domain, including the Etherscan API V2 launched in October 2024 (supporting over 50 blockchains), Solscan (via acquisition), the Blockscan multi-chain browser covering more than 30 blockchains, HyperEvmScan, and others.
On the commercial front, Etherscan operates a B2B service called "Explorer as a Service" (EaaS), which had served over 30 clients by October 2024, further expanding its business reach.

This campaign is open to registered and active Etherscan accounts created before August 12, 2025.
How to Participate?
1. Daily check-ins; milestone point rewards are given for consecutive check-ins of 7 and 14 days;
2. Mystery box opening rewards (up to 10 times during the entire campaign);
3. Claim OG rewards and the 10th-anniversary commemorative badge on the task page, share a tweet (include the hashtag #10YearsofEtherscan and optionally tag @etherscan; submit the post link after sharing).
4. Points can be used to unlock tiers (Silver, Gold, and higher levels).
Initial Campaign Period: August 12, 2025 to August 31, 2025.
What Are the Points Used For?
Etherscan emphasizes that the points are not on-chain tokens, not token airdrops, and are non-transferable. They can later be redeemed for rewards, including benefits, exclusive merchandise, features, and limited-edition surprises.
As for the community's burning question—whether Etherscan will launch a token—the answer, from an industry standpoint, is that anything is possible.
