NBA star Curry invests in FTX and becomes brand ambassador, following FTX's previous signing of Brady
Curry will receive equity in FTX Trading Limited (FTX) and serve as a brand ambassador for FTX.

FTX and FTX.US have announced a long-term partnership with NBA star Stephen Curry. Curry will receive equity in FTX Trading Limited (FTX), serve as a brand ambassador for the company, and part of his compensation will be paid in cryptocurrency.
Stephen Curry is a star point guard for the Golden State Warriors of the NBA, having led his team to three NBA championships and earning two regular-season MVP awards. He is also a philanthropist and entrepreneur.
Under the agreement, Curry will act as FTX’s brand ambassador, leveraging his influence to enhance FTX's brand visibility and expand its reach to new audiences.
This year, FTX has already partnered with NFL stars Tom Brady and Trevor Lawrence. Curry’s addition further strengthens FTX’s credibility as a trusted exchange platform for purchasing and trading digital assets such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs.
In addition, FTX has pledged to donate $500,000 annually to Eat.Learn.Play, the nonprofit foundation established by Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry, and the two parties will collaborate on charitable initiatives.
Curry said:
"The world of crypto investing has historically been quite mysterious, but FTX is making it more accessible and less intimidating for everyone. FTX and I share common values when it comes to giving back to the community. I’m excited to see what we can achieve together."
Eat.Learn.Play aims to support children in underserved communities by ensuring they enjoy happy, healthy childhoods through access to nutritious food, quality education, and physical activity. Founded in 2019, the foundation distributed over 17 million meals last year alone and plans to expand its educational support efforts in the future.
Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO and founder of FTX, said:
"After meeting personally with Stephen, we believe he is an ideal brand ambassador for FTX. Beyond his discipline and relentless competitive drive as a professional athlete, his ongoing commitment to philanthropy makes him one of the most accomplished figures across any field. Whether in basketball, business, or investing, Stephen aligns perfectly with FTX’s core values. I look forward to working with him to create positive impact for people around the world."
FTX has made significant moves in the sports sector this year:
1. FTX secured naming rights to the Miami Heat’s home arena through a 19-year, $135 million deal—one of the most expensive arena naming rights agreements in history.
2. FTX entered a 10-year, $210 million exclusive naming rights partnership with esports organization TSM (Team SoloMid), the largest deal in esports history.
3. FTX signed a partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB), marking the league’s first collaboration with a digital asset trading platform.
4. FTX reached a seven-year agreement with Riot Games, developer of League of Legends, securing sponsorship rights for the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS).
5. FTX partnered with Tom Brady and Stephen Curry.
Additionally, in July, FTX announced a $900 million funding round from investors including Sequoia Capital, SoftBank, hedge fund Third Point, and private equity firm Thoma Bravo. Following this financing, FTX’s valuation reached $18 billion.
