BitKeep Discloses 2023 New Roadmap, Rebrands as Bitget Wallet and Strengthens Security System
Asia's largest Web3 multi-chain wallet BitKeep has unveiled its new 2023 strategic roadmap, announcing a comprehensive brand upgrade and renaming itself to Bitget Wallet.
Recently, BitKeep, Asia's largest Web3 multi-chain wallet, unveiled its 2023 strategic roadmap, announcing a comprehensive brand upgrade and rebranding to Bitget Wallet. Over the coming weeks, BitKeep will launch a new logo and refresh the visual design across its app, website, and browser extension. Additionally, the company announced a management team restructuring and a renewed focus on enhancing the overall security system.

BitKeep continues independent operations, strengthening security and risk control systems
One week ago, cryptocurrency derivatives exchange Bitget completed an additional $30 million investment in BitKeep, becoming its controlling shareholder. The two parties announced integration of their business operations—expanding Bitget’s service offerings while leveraging Bitget’s research and development resources to improve BitKeep’s product stability and security, as well as providing market expansion support globally. Together, they aim to leverage their respective strengths to build a bridge connecting centralized and decentralized worlds.
Following this upgrade, BitKeep will leverage Bitget’s security infrastructure and fund protection mechanisms, gaining access to Bitget’s $300 million Risk Protection Fund to strengthen its resilience against risks and better safeguard user funds. In addition, BitKeep has introduced a series of security enhancements, including full client-side hardening, stricter pre-release review processes, upgraded APK packages with MD5 verification, and implementation of industry-leading device-specific encryption algorithms to enhance communication security.
Building on its collaboration with SlowMist, BitKeep has brought on Certik as a new security audit partner. So far, BitKeep has completed security audits of core code for its Swap and NFT marketplace protocols. It has also launched a QR code protocol for connecting hardware wallets, enabling its mobile version to integrate with mainstream hardware wallets, striving for the optimal balance between security and convenience.
Meanwhile, BitKeep announced it has fully compensated all affected users who met eligibility criteria from the security incident in December last year.
After Bitget’s investment and acquisition of controlling interest, BitKeep will continue operating independently with its own organizational structure. On the management front, co-founder and former CEO Kevin Como will step down, with Chief Product Officer Karry Cheung taking over as CEO. In the next phase, BitKeep will build a product-centric, high-efficiency team, welcoming top talent from Bitget into its R&D and security teams to jointly improve the wallet’s service stability and security.
BitKeep: Discover trending assets, all within BitKeep
Since its founding in 2018, BitKeep has evolved over more than four years into a leading decentralized wallet and Web3 asset interaction platform, offering users features such as asset storage, cross-chain swaps, NFT trading, DApp browsing, and Launchpad access. Today, BitKeep serves users across 168 countries and regions worldwide, attracting over 9.5 million users and ranking among the world’s top decentralized multi-chain wallets.
The crypto industry has developed in a spiral fashion. Compared to the early Bitcoin era over a decade ago, today’s landscape is vastly different. The foundational DeFi financial framework is gradually taking shape, and a thriving decentralized ecosystem is emerging. Multi-chain ecosystems have given rise to numerous practical application scenarios. As the industry continuously iterates and expands, it attracts increasing numbers of investors, developers, and entrepreneurs, placing higher demands on foundational tools like wallets. Today, wallets are no longer just simple storage tools—they serve as gateways to entire ecosystems, providing users with convenient entry points into the Web3 world.
Over the past few years, BitKeep has actively adapted to changing markets, continuously expanding its services to meet diverse user needs. BitKeep is the gateway for users to enter the Web3 world—participating in DeFi yield farming, playing GameFi blockchain games, buying trendy NFTs, engaging in creator economies, and experiencing X-to-Earn metaverses. It is the preferred tool for users’ on-chain interactions, freely swapping across chains and discovering trending assets. BitKeep remains at the forefront of Web3 innovation, bridging users with popular assets and public chain ecosystems.

Bitget Wallet: Faster transactions, better assets, your future trading wallet
The new brand will continue to uphold BitKeep’s original positioning, delivering secure, convenient, and efficient digital asset management services. At the same time, it aims to become one of the most favored Web3 trading wallets, enabling users to enjoy faster transactions and superior assets.
Looking ahead, BitKeep will continue enriching its product functionality, exploring MPC (Multi-Party Computation) and AA (Account Abstraction) technologies. Additionally, BitKeep is developing features related to Web3 DID (Decentralized Identity) and actively supporting ZK-Rollup ecosystem development. The team is also investing in R&D for MPC wallets, implementing private key sharding with a 2/3 threshold signature scheme to address single-point risks in private key management, all while maintaining decentralization and offering users an environment where they don’t need to remember seed phrases or private keys.
Commenting on the strategic partnership with Bitget, BitKeep COO Moka Hahn said: “By joining the Bitget ecosystem, we now have access to greater resources to continuously optimize and iterate our products. We remain committed to innovation, exploring potential technological breakthroughs and new use cases, further promoting the global adoption of Web3 technology. This gives us greater confidence to advance further and higher in global competition and maintain our leading position amid intensifying market rivalry.”
On the rationale behind partnering with BitKeep, Bitget Managing Director Gracy Chen responded: “We’ve observed steadily growing demand for decentralized asset storage and Web3 gateway applications. BitKeep has consistently received praise for its product functionality and user experience. We first invested in BitKeep back in 2021, and this latest round of increased investment and control reflects Bitget’s strong commitment to the wallet sector, aiming to integrate high-quality resources and prepare for market growth toward the next billion users.”
No matter how applications evolve, the infrastructure that supports them remains evergreen. In the fast-changing wallet space, BitKeep continues evolving—constantly reinventing itself and striving to reach new heights.
