Web3 Video Platform Shibuya: Investments from Durant and Tsai, Interactive Video Model, and IP DAO Governance
Audiences can decide the direction of the story themselves and experience different endings.

Have you ever come across videos on Bilibili where viewers can decide the direction of the story and experience different endings? These interactive videos are offering audiences a unique experience, while creators can craft imaginative narratives to enhance sensory engagement during viewing.
What kind of spark might be ignited when this innovative video format converges with Web3 technology?
Understanding Shibuya
In simple terms, Shibuya is a platform that offers interactive videos, allowing users to vote and stake to influence the storyline. Ultimately, voters and stakers become co-owners of the video content. Viewers can mint Producer Passes to participate in shaping each video’s ending and receive $WRAB token rewards afterward. Holders of $WRAB can then join the White Rabbit DAO and take part in governance over future video IPs.
Looking ahead, Shibuya aims to become a decentralized platform for creating various IPs, complete with DAO-based governance. $WRAB holders can engage in the daily operations of the White Rabbit DAO and help manage IPs and all matters related to the White Rabbit series.

Additionally, $WRAB grants holders access to exclusive “Producer” and “Executive Producer” channels, offering behind-the-scenes insights and conversations with other producers and the core team.
Ultimately, Shibuya aims to build a platform enabling two-way interaction between creators and audiences, leveraging Web3's economic system to support creators while giving supporters both participation and tangible ownership rights.
Funding Overview

Shortly after its inception, Shibuya raised $1.5 million through an NFT sale to fund early platform development and subsequent video production. Recently, they secured a $6.9 million seed round led by a16z and Varia, with participation from Joe Tsai, Paris Hilton, and NBA star Kevin Durant.
As stated in their blog, the funds will be used to bring new IPs and creators onto the platform, expand the engineering team, and hire UI/UX designers.
Project Insights
Using a DAO structure to foster a harmonious ecosystem between creators and users isn’t a new idea, but Shibuya has already emerged as a front-runner in this space thanks to high-quality content and strong ties with the Azuki community. This progress makes Shibuya’s future evolution all the more exciting to watch.
