Celer State Guardian Network 2.0 officially launches on mainnet
Celer's State Guardian Network (SGN) 2.0 has now been successfully upgraded.
The Celer State Guardian Network (SGN) 2.0 has now been successfully upgraded.SGN 2.0 provides CELR stakers with a brand-new staking interface and enhanced value capture. In addition to standard PoS staking rewards, CELR stakers can now also earn a share of transaction fees generated by multi-chain dApps built on the Celer Inter-chain Message Framework (Celer IM) and from transactions processed via Celer cBridge.
SGN is a Tendermint-based PoS blockchain that uses the same security model as other PoS blockchains such as Cosmos and Polygon. Acting as a message router between blockchains, SGN enables generalized message passing and cross-chain asset transfers. SGN is a core component of the Celer ecosystem, and other Celer products—including Celer cBridge and Celer IM—rely heavily on SGN’s PoS security, fast finality, and low-cost operations during cross-chain transactions.
Compared to SGN 1.0, SGN 2.0 focuses on enhancing its ability to capture value from transactions: for cBridge, the value captured is based on the transaction volume processed through cBridge's liquidity pool model; for Celer IM, value capture is based on the size of cross-chain messages.
CELR stakers can earn both staking and transaction rewards without running their own validator nodes. SGN validators may set a commission rate to take a portion of stakers’ future staking and transaction rewards, enabling stakers to benefit from CELR staking returns without operating a node.
With the recent mainnet upgrade to SGN 2.0, the first group of SGN 1.0 validators has successfully migrated to SGN 2.0 and are ready for new staking. Starting March 16, to better support user migration, withdrawals from SGN 1.0 staking will be processed immediately, eliminating the previous 7-day waiting period.
To complete the migration from SGN 1.0 to SGN 2.0, follow these three steps:
1. Unbond your staked CELR fromSGN 1.0 (Guide)
2. Claim and withdraw your staking rewards fromSGN 1.0 (Guide)
3. Restake your CELR onSGN 2.0 (Guide)
SGN 1.0 will stop issuing staking rewards after March 23, 2022, but the withdrawal interface will remain open indefinitely.
For support, please join ourDiscord and submit your questions or requests. Please note: Our customer support team will never initiate private messages regarding staking migration. Be vigilant against scams during the CELR staking migration process!
