Welcome to AdventureX 2026
Starting today, we’re recruiting 800 “contemporary hippies” with programming, design, or other creative skills.
At AdventureX, “hippie” is never an outdated label—it’s a stance: resisting alienation, holding fast to ideals, and embracing creativity. This spirit is written into the history of science—from Darwin breaking free of theological constraints to write *On the Origin of Species*, to Turing conceiving the blueprint of the universal computer amid wartime chaos. It’s also etched into industrial history—from Apple and HP born in garages, to the free-software movement built on open-source code to shape the digital world. It is precisely this spirit that propels every leap forward in human civilization.
To all creators who’ve taken that first bold step: let’s meet at AdventureX 2026 in Hangzhou, from July 21–26, and continue writing the creation story of our era. Over these five days, we’ll provide China’s finest creation space, unlimited server resources and Credits, hardware equipment, full meals and accommodation, in-depth technical talks, and fun “Blues” activities. All creators will form teams of up to four people to build a hardware or software project—or pioneer a technological innovation—from scratch.
On the final day, every team will receive an exhibition booth to showcase their project live to the world. The public, investors, founders, and media will experience your work firsthand and engage directly with you. We also warmly invite everyone interested in AdventureX 2026 to attend in person and witness the faith-driven leap of 800 creators.

Create at AdventureX
In 2025, AdventureX quadrupled its participant count to 800. That year, we introduced a convention center as a satellite venue for the first time—and this year, we’ll continue that setup to welcome even more people to experience the power of creation firsthand.
In AdventureX 2025, we removed age restrictions—and we’re doing so again this year. Participants aged 26 and under, as well as current students, remain the core demographic. Yet for those beyond this age range—but still possessing youthful curiosity and passion for creation—we’ll admit up to 100 participants. In this way, two generations collide, exchange ideas, share experiences, rekindle youth, and rediscover their love for making.
In AdventureX 2025,
Creators from 182 regions completed registration.
They speak different languages,
write different code,
live across different time zones,
carry different life stories,
yet gathered in this inclusive, borderless space—
free of national or cultural boundaries—
and lost sleep over the same mission for five days straight.
We truly took the hackathon beyond China—and onto the global stage.
Dream Together at AdventureX
From the very first day AdventureX was born,
dreaming has never been a solo act.
Creativity doesn’t bloom atop ivory towers—it lives naturally in everyone’s hands. Regardless of academic background or professional path, you belong at AdventureX, ready to show the world your extraordinary creativity.
AdventureX has always believed:
Creativity is a force
that knows no class,
no age,
no gender,
no wealth.
Fully Free
AdventureX 2026 remains true to its founding promise: completely free for everyone—whether participants or visitors—with zero registration fees. We’ll also offer modest travel subsidies to all visitors, broadening participation in this social movement. Our hope? More people witness it, more rediscover the fiery energy of youth, more grasp the meaning of youth-led creation—and together, reshape an era.
Free Accommodation & Free Meals
All participants aged 26 and under—or currently enrolled students—will receive complimentary accommodation options. We’ll also provide 24/7 self-serve snacks and caffeine fuel, plus five full days of complimentary meals for all participants.
In past editions of AdventureX, our average per-participant investment was ¥20,000.
Travel Subsidy
For participants aged 26 and under—or currently enrolled students—we’ll offer travel subsidies based on application background and distance traveled. We’re actively fundraising to extend this program to the vast majority of participants—and to cover full train or flight reimbursements for as many as possible. Let travel logistics be the *last* barrier—not the first—to joining AdventureX 2026.
“Creation Happens” Program
In the past two years, AdventureX has fully funded the participation of over a dozen creators facing severe financial hardship.
This year, we’re continuing the program. Any participant who provides valid documentation will receive full reimbursement for all AdventureX 2026 expenses.
(Excluding additional meals or separate travel plans.)
Meet at AdventureX
Every year, AdventureX is a massive real-world meetup for online friends. At AdventureX 2026, you’ll get to meet in person the tech legends, YouTubers, indie developers, and startup founders you’ve long admired. Most of us arrived at coding, design, and creation because of a single tweet, a blog post, or a story passed down through word of mouth. In fact, it was *their* stories that inspired us to launch AdventureX. So each year, we invite them back—as guests and judges.
Even cooler? They won’t just deliver fireside chats or lectures—they’ll blend into the crowd. You might bump into them on Day One at the Super! Expo—or find them sitting beside you at an event. On the final day, they’ll quietly evaluate your project. So strike up conversations everywhere—you never know what delightful surprises await!
Here are some of the AdventureX 2026 guests and judges:
……Saying more would spoil the surprise (the only hint: this year features many incredible domestic and international guests). Follow our official WeChat account and social media—we’ll reveal them gradually. Two weeks before the event, we’ll announce the opening ceremony’s fireside chat guests. And if there’s someone you’d especially like to see, tell us in the comments!
Of course,
we *can* share some past guests and judges (a partial list—345 total):
Experience at AdventureX
We’ve brought the best of China—
and the world—to these five days.
Creators’ Design Exhibition
Last year, AdventureX quadrupled its participant count to 800. That same year, we debuted the convention center as a satellite venue—and this year, we’ll not only continue that but launch the “Lumina Initiative,” hosting an art exhibition *by* creators, *for* creators.
Hardware Lab
At AdventureX, “believing in youth” isn’t just a slogan—it’s our foundational principle and solemn pledge.
In AdventureX 2025, we built the world’s most advanced hardware lab for all creators. From 3D printers and Vision Pro headsets to smartphones, drones, robotic arms, smart glasses, chips, and robotics kits—the inventory is staggering. Frankly, no other hackathon on Earth matches our hardware quantity or diversity. Want to build hardware? We’ve stocked materials and equipment. Want to explore cutting-edge tech? Try the latest spatial computing devices and wearables—on us.
Deep-Sleep Zone
Beyond scattered tents and sleeping bags across the venue, we’ve carved out a dedicated, utterly silent “Deep-Sleep Zone.” Four fully isolated quiet pods—strictly no coding or discussion allowed. We’ve installed professional-grade mattresses so you can truly rest in peace. Nearby, we’ll also offer complimentary hotel rooms for deeper recovery sleep.
Apple Ecosystem Integration
AdventureX 2026 will deeply integrate the Apple ecosystem—extending credential functionality to electronic access control, the hardware lab, and other activity zones—to elevate the overall experience.
Super! Expo
The Super! Expo is AdventureX’s mega-scale pop-up fair. Over 150+ tech companies and communities will join onsite—you’ll chat face-to-face with your favorite brands, grab swag, try out new gadgets—and unlock secret interactive experiences!
Explore at AdventureX
During the middle three days, beyond building the next world-changing project, we’ve curated numerous @Workshops and “Blues” activities. In @Workshops, you’ll absorb frontier technical knowledge and investment theory—material you simply won’t find in any university syllabus.
Of course, attendance is entirely optional. Pick the @Workshops that spark your curiosity—and apply what you learn directly to your own project.
Past @Workshop Highlights:
Let’s Vibe Design! AI is rewriting UI design rules at unprecedented speed—but AI-generated interfaces don’t inherently possess soul. Truly standout apps need a unifying narrative: consistent visuals across every tap, cohesive storytelling across every transition. This @Workshop tackles the core question: When your team has no designer, how do developers code a brand-level visual language? We’ll walk you through practice—from defining core problems and mapping user journeys, to codifying design systems and batch-generating multi-page UIs, to seamless development handoff in Cursor—transforming fragmented features into a unified, living experience. Don’t let creativity stop at architecture—let Paraflow help you turn inspiration into captivating interfaces. Learn it, use it, ship it—right at Hackathon.
How to Navigate Early-Stage Startup Challenges
Building a startup is hard—especially the leap from zero to one. How does a small, beautiful company take its first steps out of the tutorial zone—and how many boss battles lie ahead? MetaLight (Yuan Guang Technology, HK.2605), a 12-year-old, technology-driven firm, knows this terrain intimately. In this session, we won’t serve up condescending success clichés—just raw, authentic stories about confronting classic challenges—and our reflections afterward. This @Workshop covers:
• How a few classmates decided to start a tech venture over barbecue—and the typical hurdles they faced;
• Reenacting those moments: choices made, outcomes observed, and retrospective insights—so you might do even better;
• In the AI era: What advantages and disadvantages do small startup teams face? How can “super individuals” collaborate effectively with organizations? MetaLight shares its own journey.
From Factorio to Industrial Automation—A Full-Spectrum View
In this 60-minute @Workshop, SUPCON will use the game *Factorio* as an entry point to demystify industrial automation—delivering a fun, accessible “Industry 101.” We’ll trace how factory data flows—from the most basic sensors and actuators, up through controllers and monitoring layers, all the way to enterprise-level strategic decision-making. Not only will you understand the “Levels 0–4” architecture, but we’ll demonstrate hands-on how SUPCON powers each layer—bringing factories to life. The session includes industry taxonomy, real-world case studies, and Q&A—immersing you in automation’s full workflow and mastering its essence. Let’s begin this playful exploration of process industries together.
Beyond technical growth, we’ve prepared wildly fun “Blues” activities to help all “contemporary hippies” relax and spark fresh inspiration during extreme creation.
Past Blues Highlights:
Legacy Cable Cyber-Mod Workshop
CANDYSIGN—a sugar refinery turned creative studio—has run its “Cable Swap” program across 20+ cities, collecting 50,000 idle or discarded data cables. These forgotten electronics have become art in CANDYSIGN’s Remake Project. This time, we’ve invited interactive artist Liz to lead an on-site cable-mod workshop at AdventureX. Using Arduino hardware programming and everyday recyclables, we’ll transform obsolete cables into interactive wearable devices. Craft your own cyberpunk cable piece—functional fashion, outdoor gear, or home décor inspiration, all in one.
Mindful Creativity Meditation
A mindfulness meditation session specially designed for hackathon creators—an inspiration-release practice. Through mindful awareness, we cultivate focus, reduce stress, and heighten presence—breaking free from self-judgment and inner friction, letting ideas flow freely. This session guides you to reconnect with your curious, fearless, exploratory self—the wellspring of creativity—and face challenges and unknowns with openness and ease.
“Vibe Live” Immersive Experience
What happens when Vibe Coding meets Live Coding? Based on the AIVJ machine developed by Vrch’s Wu Qi team, we present “Vibe Live”—a groundbreaking live performance. Featuring a hand-curated AI-powered guofeng (Chinese-style) experimental music playlist, we invite AdventureX makers to join this ultra-vibey AI music party! Beyond a full 20-minute AI guofeng experimental set and real-time AI visual performance, we encourage spontaneous, imaginative interaction with AI. Surrounded by analog noise in the latent space, witness an intelligent-art form that commands light and sound—and step into an ethereal Eastern realm suspended between myth and reality, where ancient aesthetics meet futuristic vibes.
We’ll unveil specific @Workshop and “Blues” activity details gradually via our social media channels.
Boundless Ground at AdventureX
AdventureX isn’t a community requiring upkeep—because these memories last forever.
Among AdventureX 2025’s 800+ creators lies a delightful secret: over 60 unique souls were all born in the vibrant month of July. Last year at closing, we hosted a joint birthday party for all July-born creators. This year, we’ll continue the tradition—not just as birthday wishes, but as tribute to every creator’s talent and passion.
Every year, AdventureX’s final night hosts the Woodstock Music Festival—a signature tradition and symbol of hippie culture. We’ll invite socially minded bands to perform live—and our judges and participants will join in too.
Through this festival, AdventureX honors all origins. Over half a century ago, a group of young people sang for three days amid rain and chaos. The world called them “hippies” and thought them mad. Yet it was precisely this group who later ignited Silicon Valley, birthed the personal computer, and returned creation to every ordinary person. The hippie movement may have faded—but its flame never died. It retreated into garages, into open-source communities, into every hackathon.
We all wish to use our intellect and courage to forge something new,
turn sci-fi into reality,
use technology to advance equity,
and propel humanity forward.
Leap Forward at AdventureX
During the countless nights preparing AdventureX,
we often ask ourselves:
When the celebration ends,
when the crowd disperses,
what, exactly, will we leave behind
for this world?
In 2024, we built a basketball court for children in Kashgar, Xinjiang. In 2025, after a fire broke out in Hong Kong’s Tai Po Hung Fu Court, we delivered relief funds immediately. Every year, leftover funds from AdventureX are donated.
Moreover, all remaining physical assets post-event—including tables, chairs, tablets, and surplus hardware we purchased—are fully donated, extending AdventureX’s legacy across time.
We also want to leave something timeless.
This year, we launched the Hackathon Open-Source Initiative—publishing a comprehensive 50,000-word draft and inviting hackathon organizers nationwide to co-maintain it.
From AdventureX’s inception, our mission has been singular: empower more young Chinese to live for changing the world. If AdventureX remained a one-off, unrepeatable anomaly, it would, in essence, monopolize the right to create. We don’t aspire to carry a torch—we aim to be the spring breeze that ignites prairie fire.
We envision 100 cities, 1,000 student groups, using this Playbook to launch their own vibrant, localized, living hackathons.
Chasing Light at AdventureX
In 2024, we proved Chinese youth can create.
On registration day, our bank account held ¥0—and yet we pledged 200 participants, China’s finest venue, five days of fully covered food and lodging, ¥1 million in prizes, 20 workshops, a music festival, unlimited hardware and server resources, and awe-inspiring speakers. Back then, we had no idea we’d inadvertently turned the gears of epochal change—awakening China’s long-dormant maker spirit that summer.
Now it’s 2026. When we confront the profound “Qian Xuesen Question” once more, we no longer answer it with just one event—because we realize AdventureX is far more than a hackathon.
This year, “Chasing the Sun” is AdventureX 2026’s guiding theme—symbolizing a collective, fearless pursuit of an overwhelmingly brilliant goal.
To outsiders, that goal may seem near-delusional—but for our generation, it’s an unwavering ideal.
We believe a nation’s true renewal—and a deep-rooted innovation culture—cannot be bestowed top-down by a handful of corporations. It must be a grassroots awakening.
When this conviction spreads like wildfire through young hearts, nothing can stop this country from reaching the summit of innovation.
- The most striking thing about participating was the organizers’ sincerity. They genuinely treat you like family—giving you absolutely everything they’ve got. Your only job is to build the product you envision. When purpose shifts from fame or profit to doing something meaningful—and realizing personal value—I’m deeply moved. After all, I’ve never seen competition staff volunteer to pull four all-nighters with you for free.—@jrenc2002
- These five days felt like a dream—AdventureX is undoubtedly the first turning point in my life.—@gloridust1024
- Hundreds of young people gather here: some rush to workshops clutching laptops; others sit in circles debating; tents stand on the floor, sleeping bags scattered—thick summer sweat hanging in the air.—Waves暗涌
- A relaxed, unhurried vibe. Many hackers are chill, and the organizing team embodies the same ethos. No pressure to be perfect or go all-in—just make something, and go with the flow. Teams don’t feel competitive; instead, they drop by each other’s booths, swap jokes, and make friends.—@ValeriShieh
- Endless brainstorming—and learning teamwork along the way.—@vanillaCitron
- Though actual building time was only three days, many finalist teams delivered fully functional, production-ready products.—ShaoShu Pai (Minority Report)
- Participants are incredibly busy—but the organizers remain remarkably laid-back. Everyone embraces spontaneity.—@oran_ge
- So many amazing stories unfolded over five days—I don’t even know where to begin. I met fascinating friends and mentors, learned new things, and built something genuinely interesting.—@Taozziz
- “Some people hold torches in their hearts—and can see each other’s light.” AdventureX is the most fascinating event I’ve ever attended. I survived a week of near-zero sleep, met incredible people, and glimpsed a radically different world. In any era, youth’s fiery passion remains worth tears of awe.—@skywt2003
Once, generation after generation of young people worldwide crossed the Pacific—flying to the U.S., Canada, and other lands hailed as hacker meccas—in search of soil fertile enough for wild imagination.
But at AdventureX 2026, that has changed.
We no longer need to prove ourselves to the world—because the world has come to us.
Every July, brilliant young minds of diverse ethnicities, speaking countless languages, spanning over a dozen time zones, converge upon China—and Hangzhou—landing on this land steeped in 5,000 years of innovative history, carrying their wildest ideas.
The sparks have become a galaxy.
July 2026,
let’s leap again—for creation.
As a nonprofit student organization, AdventureX relies entirely on support from society each year.
This year, we extend heartfelt thanks to the following enterprises, communities, and media partners.
We’re also seeking additional funding and community collaboration. If you’d like to partner with us, please contact our WeChat assistant: adventurex_01
