About the Time I Launched a Meme Coin Using a Refrigerator... | Today's Meme Perspective Showcase
The funniest episode.

What makes a good meme?
Perhaps the answer is not trying to become a meme at all—but becoming one anyway because it's just too funny.
While most daily memecoins are desperately chasing trends, some memes naturally attract attention through pure humor—like launching a token called "FRIDGE" (fridge) from an actual refrigerator.
In today’s on-chain highlights, FRIDGE stands out as a breath of fresh air.
The story began when a developer casually visited a mall and spotted a Samsung smart fridge with a touchscreen. He then used that very screen to launch a meme coin, live-streaming the entire process.
Soon after, FRIDGE started gaining traction in English CT circles. This slightly artistic, playful act resonated with people, and the token’s market cap quickly surged to $6M.

Some community members even commented that this was a triple win: Samsung got free publicity, the dev made money from a spontaneous idea, and on-chain participants gained another amusing asset to speculate on.
Once you understand the full picture of this “fridge token launch,” you might feel it better captures the original spirit of memes—it has *the vibe*.
Live-Streaming a Token Launch from a Fridge: Absurdity and Surprise
It all started with a humorous dev wanting to launch a token using a smart device on Pump.fun.
He went to a nearby electronics store, browsed around, and eventually settled on a touchscreen-enabled Samsung fridge. On a whim, he decided to name the token FRIDGE and posted a video on Twitter showing himself entering the store and using the fridge to log into Pump.fun.

Since he needed time to learn the fridge’s operating system and interface, the token wasn’t fully launched yet.
An hour later, he uploaded another real-time video confirming successful login to Pump.fun via the fridge, officially launching the FRIDGE token—and even gave a shoutout to Samsung for making such an intelligent fridge.

However, since he was filming himself touching and interacting with the fridge inside the store, his behavior drew attention. The store manager intervened and asked him to stop filming, eventually escorting him out.
Unfazed and still in high spirits, the dev humorously tweeted that he wouldn’t leave until this groundbreaking “fridge-based token launch technology” and its historic moment were properly witnessed. Even funnier? By then, the FRIDGE token had already moved from Pump.fun’s internal pool to Raydium’s external market. Now, the dev had a new decision to make:
Should I buy this fridge and take it home?

At this point, the story became genuinely hilarious—the absurd irony of launching a fridge-themed token from a real fridge and then deciding to buy it. It felt both surreal and comical.
But here comes the funniest part: the price chart remained displayed on the fridge’s touchscreen. The same store manager who had earlier kicked him out became curious and asked the dev what the rising numbers meant.
After a brief explanation, the manager clearly showed the greedy side inherent in all of us—he wanted some FRIDGE tokens too. This created a stark contrast with his earlier attempt to remove the dev, essentially turning into a live demonstration of “convinced by price action.”

Then came something even wilder: the dev installed a Phantom wallet on the manager’s phone and walked him through the basics of handling tokens. But clearly, the manager was a novice and struggled with transfers and trading.
Still, screenshots in the thread revealed the new wallet address. Seeing this, some community members engaged in their own form of performance art—actually sending FRIDGE tokens worth around $2,000 (and now more) to the store manager’s wallet.
And just like that, the narrative solidified: “I sneaked into a store, launched a token from a fridge, and ended up making the fridge salesman rich.” The whole sequence brimmed with absurdity and unpredictability—so entertaining that the FRIDGE token kept climbing.
The Fridge Battle: Community to the Rescue
But the story doesn’t end there. Remember how the dev said he wanted to buy the fridge?
As the mall was about to close, the dev firmly told the store manager he wanted to purchase that very fridge. He believed it was a historic event, and he was genuinely impressed by the Samsung fridge’s capabilities.
But plot twist: the manager replied that the fridge had already been reserved—for himself.
Since the fridge used for the token launch was a display model, the manager took advantage of an employee discount to secure it for personal purchase—a perfectly reasonable move, technically speaking.

The dev was visibly disappointed. He really wanted that fridge, but there seemed to be no way forward.
That’s when crypto community spirit kicked in.
Another community member, coincidentally living in the same city as the dev, found the post hilarious and decided to help. He offered to drive the dev around to find an identical fridge elsewhere.
Thus began a city-wide hunt, visiting multiple electronics stores in search of the exact model: the Samsung 636L AI Family Hub fridge. At this point, acquiring the fridge became not just a goal, but a mission—an obsession too meaningful to abandon.
According to the dev’s live updates, they drove from daylight into nightfall—and finally found the same model in another store. Unfortunately, due to its large size, it wouldn’t fit in the trunk, so they’re still figuring out transportation.
As of publishing, the dev has updated his post with a screenshot showing the fridge successfully delivered home.

With that, the crypto degen’s quest for the matching fridge comes to a close.
What makes this story fascinating is how it reflects the cohesion and creativity of the crypto community. A simple token launch evolved into an engaging physical-world tug-of-war over a real product (a fridge), unexpectedly involving both the store manager and a kind-hearted stranger.
Of course, we could cynically suspect this was an elaborate staged performance, possibly scripted from the start.
Yet given the spontaneity and unfolding events, it still aligns closely with the core of meme culture—
Absurdity, spontaneity, dramatic twists, and unpredictable viral potential.
Sometimes, this kind of organic humor hits harder than deliberately engineered memes—because the best jokes often come disguised as ordinary moments.
In the midst of intense PVP battles, taking a step back to laugh at a fridge story offers a refreshing change of pace.
Risk Warning: Memes have no fundamental value and are highly sensitive to market sentiment. The vast majority (over 99%) of memecoins are PVP plays that will eventually go to zero. This article is for informational purposes only and does not constitute any investment advice.
