The wait is over — here comes the Movement testnet introduction and a detailed guide on how to participate!
There's plenty of time for testnet incentives; the mainnet will launch as soon as possible—enjoy it while it lasts.

The highly anticipated L2 narrative project Movement has been making waves recently, continuously announcing updates following its massive fundraising round. Today marks the launch of Movement’s incentivized testnet.
With innovations such as the Move language, modular architecture, and EVM parallelization, Movement offers a wealth of technical advancements worth discussing. However, we won’t delve into those details here. For readers interested in learning more about the project’s technological merits, please refer to the TechFlow article: Movement: Bringing Move to EVM and Reinventing Ethereum's Security.
As a well-backed L2 project with significant funding, how can users participate in Movement’s much-anticipated incentivized testnet? Today, TechFlow walks you through a comprehensive overview and initial steps to join Movement’s large-scale incentive campaign.
Preparation
To participate in Movement testnet tasks, you’ll need to download two wallets from the Movement ecosystem: the Razor Wallet and the Nightly Wallet. Both wallets can share the same recovery phrase, and faucet funds can be claimed directly within the wallets.
Razor Wallet download link:
Nightly Wallet download link:
After downloading both wallets, log in to Galxe and bind your Sui, Aptos, and Movement Aptos addresses under account settings. The Movement Aptos address must be bound using the Razor Wallet.
Galxe wallet binding page:

Based on our testing, the wallet-binding experience is somewhat clunky. We recommend binding only your Sui and Movement Aptos addresses for now.

How to Participate in the MoveDrop Incentive Program (Step-by-Step Guide)
The official name for this incentivized testnet campaign is "MoveDrop", leaving little doubt about its intent—officials clearly understand that most users are primarily excited about the potential "airdrop".
MoveDrop is open to all users and consists of 4 participation activities + 3 types of rewards:
-
Building the Parthenon
Target audience: All users
Rewards: Resources and Ethos (similar to points)
How to participate: Complete Galxe quests and interact with ecosystem projects
Start by completing the Movement Quest Series on Galxe:
Tasks are fairly basic—visiting pages, answering questions, and following social media accounts.

Finally, you must join the Movement Discord server to receive the "Mover" role verification. However, the Discord server is currently full. You may need to keep refreshing to grab an opening or wait for an official solution.

Parthenon (Temple of Parthenon) is the centerpiece of user participation. Users can complete tasks across five different roles: Pathfinders, Creators, Explorers, Scholars, and Spartans.
Use the Quests page to view available tasks:

Check your current role progression (task completion status) at the Guilds/Inventory page:

Visit the APPS page to explore ecosystem applications.
Previously, TechFlow compiled a list of notable projects within the Movement ecosystem. See our article: Opportunity Preview: Mapping the Ecosystem of Heavily Funded L2 Project Movement.

Movement has set up over 300 tasks in total—completing all would be extremely time-consuming and demanding.
However, the team seems mindful of user experience. The founder tweeted that these tasks aren't meant to push users into grinding; completing just 10% of tasks in any single role counts as valid participation.

For most users, “Building the Parthenon” will be the main focus of this testnet campaign. Based on our hands-on testing, individual tasks aren’t difficult, but the overall UX is currently suboptimal. Issues include EVM addresses failing to log in on Galxe, persistent wallet binding failures, missing task lists on the activity homepage, and other bugs. That said, the experience tends to improve during off-peak hours.
We suspect the platform may be overloaded due to high traffic at launch, as many users rush in simultaneously. It’s advisable to avoid peak times for interactions, and the team may roll out optimizations soon.

Gmove Campaign – Social Media Engagement
Target audience: All users
Rewards: Trophies (potentially another form of weighted points or NFTs)
How to participate: Engage on social media, contribute to the Move system’s GitHub repositories, become an active community member of the Movement ecosystem, or create and share Movement-related creative content.
In short, the Gmove Campaign targets genuine ecosystem contributors who add real value to the community and are rewarded accordingly.
The simplest way to participate is tweeting “gmove” on X (Twitter). Although we haven’t participated yet, the platform is already flooded with memes and posts featuring “gmove”.

-
The Battle of Olympus (Hackathon)
Target audience: Developers
Rewards: Medals
How to participate:

The third event, “Battle of Olympus,” is a hackathon specifically for developers and less relevant to regular users (yes, we haven’t joined either). Interested developers can click the link above to register.

-
Centurions
Target audience: Loyal ecosystem users
Rewards: TBA
How to participate: TBA
Details for the fourth activity have not yet been released. According to official hints, it will target long-term loyal users—something to look forward to.

Summary
That concludes our guide on how to get started with the Movement testnet. The incentive period is relatively generous, and the team has indicated plans to launch the mainnet soon—possibly without prolonged delays. Enjoy the opportunity while it lasts.
TechFlow will continue monitoring the latest developments on the Movement testnet and provide targeted tutorials for the “Building the Parthenon” activities. Stay tuned!
