EDCON 2023 in Montenegro successfully concluded, celebrating together with the global Ethereum community
On May 31, EDCON (Ethereum Developer Community Conference), held in Podgorica, Montenegro, concluded successfully.
On May 31st this year, EDCON (Ethereum Developer Conference) concluded in grand fashion in Podgorica, Montenegro, leaving a lasting mark with over 3,000 participants from 68 countries attending the five-day event.
Throughout the conference, Ethereum developers, researchers, and thought leaders took the stage to share insights on critical topics such as the future of the Ethereum network, the importance of zero-knowledge technology, scaling the L2 ecosystem, and public goods.
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin outlined a future roadmap for Ethereum based on several pressing current issues. Scalability is being addressed through L2 solutions, though interoperability remains a challenge. User account security has become increasingly important but can be improved via multi-signature and social recovery mechanisms. Privacy emerged as another key concern, which Buterin suggested addressing through stealth addresses and ZK-based social recovery. In short? ZK REAM: "Zero Knowledge Rules Everything Around Me."
Guest speakers including Tim Beiko, Skylar Weaver, Barry Whitehat, Piper Merriam, Andy Guzman, and Leo Lara from the Ethereum Foundation; Cy Li, Head of Ethereum University; Eli Ben-Sasson, co-founder of StarkWare; Scott Moore, co-founder of Gitcoin; and Balaji Srinivasan, author of "The Network State," all shared valuable insights during the event.
ETH Montenegro, initiated by community ambassadors from Ethereum University (UETH), featured not only stage presentations but also active volunteer support from these ambassadors during the event. Looking ahead, EDCON will take place in Japan in 2024, aiming to inspire and energize the local Japanese community with the same passion and vision that characterized EDCON in Montenegro.
