Hey team,
The past few days have been brutal for this industry. Many people have lost all their money as their net worth was completely wiped out. There have been many such moments in the history of crypto when greed and boom dominated the market. Yet, the market is merely a reflection of ourselves. Although we'd like to deny it, greed as a powerful force is acting upon each one of us. In times like these, what matters most is stepping back and realizing what truly matters—what we're actually building. As they say, you come for the money, but stay for the mission.
Actually, I'm not worried about crypto—we'll be okay. In every cycle, crypto gets closer to its promised land. No one knows what will happen; we might be in a bear market for the next few months, or even for the next several years. What matters most is how we use the time within it, focusing on what we can control. We can't control the market, we can't control sentiment—but we can build something.
Zapper was born during a bear market in a small apartment in Verdun, when I had no savings left and DeFi's TVL was only $50 million. Web3 wasn't even a term yet, and NFTs were just CryptoKitties. Zapper emerged from intense focus and isolation from distractions, successfully hitting a nerve in an exciting new market—at a time when most people thought crypto had already died.

What I love about bear markets is that there are a thousand times more opportunities than in bull markets. When most people see doomsday, we see opportunity—the chance to become the next-cycle Coinbase, OpenSea, or Uniswap. More importantly, we have the chance to accelerate adoption of this new decentralized economy.
We have plenty of runway. We'll remain lean, agile, and flexible to weather any potential storms ahead. I feel incredibly lucky about the team we've built. You are a unique, crazy, interesting, and exceptionally talented group of builders.
The path forward is clear—let’s go build the front end of Web3!
