Over the past few years, there has been massive global hype around cryptocurrency. While this new technology has gained recognition in some countries, others have strongly opposed it and even implemented policies restricting cryptocurrency trading. India is one such country. However, despite the Indian government's resistance to incorporating cryptocurrency into the national economy, Indian citizens have surged ahead, actively entering the crypto market and developing innovative cryptocurrency technologies.
In this context, Gajesh Naik, a 13-year-old prodigy and eighth-grade student at People's High School in Panaji, emerged.
The pandemic changed life for most people. While the severe outbreak harmed many, during school closures caused by the pandemic, Gajesh managed to turn adversity into opportunity. He used the time when schools were shut down last year to acquire new skills.
Gajesh told the Daily Mail: "Since offline classes were suspended last year due to the pandemic, I've studied and earned certificates from several online courses, including programs from the University at Buffalo and the State University of New York."
Initially, Gajesh only intended to create online learning content for elementary students in India, but he quickly became fascinated by the blockchain field.
Then he began developing applications on the Polygon network.
This 13-year-old aims to raise awareness about blockchain and cryptocurrency. To achieve this, Gajesh launched a YouTube channel where he explains blockchain and cryptocurrency concepts. He also participates in various crypto and blockchain events, delivering speeches at these gatherings.
His YouTube channel now has over 12,000 subscribers. His Twitter account has more than 22,000 followers. Gajesh uses YouTube and Twitter to discuss topics related to crypto and blockchain.
The prodigy began learning programming at age 8 and mastered an impressive number of programming languages.
At age 8, Gajesh started learning Java, JavaScript, C++, and Solidity.
In 2018, attending an international blockchain conference sparked his interest in blockchain.
This year, Gajesh developed two applications: PolyGaj and StableGaj. This achievement attracted significant attention in Indian news media last week.
Both applications are built on the Polygon network, which is described as “a protocol and framework for building and connecting Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks.”
- PolyGaj is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform and NFT platform.
- StableGaj, on the other hand, is a decentralized stablecoin exchange.
Billionaire investor Mark Cuban uses PolyGaj, and the platform has been utilized to manage approximately $7 million worth of cryptocurrency.
