OKLink interviewed by CCTV, focusing on blockchain talent development
CCTV reporters visited the OKG Group in person, engaging in in-depth discussions with blockchain engineers and the HR director on topics including how emerging professions contribute to employment absorption.
On July 28, CCTV-4's "China News" program conducted an in-depth report on two newly added blockchain-related professions. A CCTV reporter visited OKLink Group in person, engaging in detailed discussions with blockchain engineers and the HR director at OKLink on topics including how these emerging professions can absorb talent into the workforce.
During the interview, an OKLink blockchain engineer explained that blockchain technology features traceability and immutability, enabling broad applications in areas such as copyright protection, finance, and logistics. As one of the new official occupations—"Blockchain Engineering Technicians"—professionals are primarily responsible for developing products like blockchain browsers.

The HR director at OKLink noted that since blockchain was elevated to a national strategic level last year and subsequently included in the "New Infrastructure" initiative in April this year, the industry has experienced rapid growth over the past two years. However, there remains a significant talent shortage. In the first half of this year alone, OKLink recruited nearly 300 blockchain professionals—an increase of 30% compared to the same period last year—including nearly 100 recent graduates hired through campus recruitment programs.

In fact, to address the growing imbalance between supply and demand for blockchain talent, China's Ministry of Human Resources and other relevant departments have taken proactive measures, recently announcing nine new emerging professions—including two related to blockchain. Citing expert opinions, CCTV emphasized that new business models and industrial structures require large numbers of young professionals. The recent release of new occupational categories is expected to guide employment trends in the new economy, promote industrial job creation, direct investment, and help solve practical challenges.
However, according to predictions from Gartner, a leading international consulting firm, as blockchain technology advances, China’s blockchain talent gap could exceed 750,000. This indicates that the blockchain industry will continue to face substantial talent shortages in the short term. Given that university-based talent development systems remain underdeveloped, leading enterprises like OKLink are poised to become key players in cultivating blockchain talent.
Publicly available information shows that OKLink Group is a globally leading blockchain industrial group. Since its founding in 2013, it has been dedicated to blockchain research, development, and commercialization, evolving into a large-scale global blockchain technology and service provider. Headquartered in Beijing, China, OKLink has established subsidiaries or offices in more than 10 countries and regions including the United States, Europe, South Korea, and Japan.

In terms of blockchain talent cultivation and recruitment, OKLink leverages its strengths to continuously nurture elite professionals for the industry. In May this year, OKLink launched its latest blockchain talent development initiative—the "Kunpeng Plan"—which will open up hundreds of positions throughout the year, with over 60% focused on blockchain technology research and real-world application roles. These include positions such as Blockchain Development Engineers, Senior Java Developers (Blockchain), Senior iOS Developers, as well as various blockchain application operators, with simultaneous openings for both social and campus recruitment.

To further strengthen its pipeline of specialized blockchain talent, OKLink will also establish a dedicated fund specifically for nurturing potential blockchain professionals. The company will continue enhancing collaboration with universities and research institutions to achieve more precise talent matching and explore greater possibilities for blockchain talent development and technological application in China.
Industry experts point out that amid the rising tide of New Infrastructure, local governments are rolling out blockchain-specific policies at an accelerating pace, making talent development the top priority for industrial implementation. However, current talent training mechanisms cannot keep up with the pace of industrial development, necessitating active participation from leading blockchain companies like OKLink to continuously inject fresh talent into the ecosystem. CCTV’s focus on OKLink when covering emerging blockchain professions highlights the group’s leadership in talent development—a model worthy of emulation across the industry.
