Filecoin Onchain Cloud Officially Launches on Mainnet
Programmable Storage Infrastructure for the AI Agent Era—Data verification is recorded on-chain, and payments are automatically executed via smart contracts.
Key Mainnet Launch Metrics

Filecoin Onchain Cloud (FOC) has officially launched on mainnet. It is a programmable storage and payment infrastructure built for the AI Agent era—data possession is verified via on-chain proofs, payments are executed automatically through smart contracts, and every operation generates an auditable, permanent record.
Since the testnet’s release in November 2025, over 100 development teams have built on FOC, spanning AI Agents, decentralized frontends, computational workflows, and data indexing. In its early mainnet phase, the platform has accumulated 49.41 TiB of stored data across 478 active datasets.
AI Agents need more than just storage space—they require a complete, autonomous mechanism for storage, retrieval, and payment, all operating without human intervention. Filecoin Onchain Cloud delivers a trusted infrastructure layer for such automated systems.
Why Now?
AI is generating data at an unprecedented pace—but traditional cloud infrastructure faces four fundamental challenges:
- No verifiable record of data operations—Agent logs, reasoning traces, and model outputs cannot be independently verified;
- Automation systems struggle to execute payments independently—AI Agents cannot use credit cards or centralized account systems;
- Agent memory lacks persistence and cryptographic guarantees—state storage across sessions cannot be enforced;
- Data sovereignty boundaries are ambiguous—regulatory requirements around geographically constrained data storage are becoming increasingly stringent across jurisdictions.
FOC directly addresses all four issues at the infrastructure level through on-chain proofs and programmable payment mechanisms.
Mainnet Core Capabilities
Verifiable Redundant Storage: Every upload is automatically distributed across two independent storage nodes and accompanied by on-chain proof generation; if a node fails, the system automatically replaces it and re-replicates data—no developer intervention required.
Continuous Node Evaluation: DealBot continuously evaluates nodes: storage success rate must be ≥ 95%, retrievability within 5 seconds must be ≥ 95%, and annual PDP failure rate must be < 1%. Nodes failing to meet these thresholds are removed from the network.
On-Chain Data Proofs (PDP): Stored data undergoes on-chain verification every 24 hours; failed verifications automatically pause payments. Developers can monitor proof status and node history in real time via the PDP Explorer.
Agent-Native Payments: Enables AI Agents to manage wallets and storage workflows directly via the Synapse SDK—fully autonomous, no manual involvement—and supports the ERC-8004 cross-Agent interoperability standard.

Ecosystem Update: MoonPay Launches Open Wallet Standard with Native Filecoin Support
Concurrent with the FOC mainnet launch, MoonPay released the Open Wallet Standard—a fully open specification that provides AI Agents with a secure, universal method to hold assets, sign transactions, and make payments—without exposing private keys.
Co-developed by over 15 organizations—including Filecoin ecosystem participants—the standard natively supports Filecoin while remaining compatible with EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, and other major chains. This advancement further solidifies Filecoin’s role as the foundational storage layer for the Agent economy.

Primary Use Cases
AI Agents and Automated Systems: Agents autonomously handle storage and payments via SDKs; operation logs and reasoning records are immutably anchored on-chain, enabling cross-Agent interoperability (ERC-8004).
AI Data Pipelines: Full lifecycle tracking—from dataset ingestion and transformation to model checkpoint management—is preserved on-chain, enabling full auditability: “What data, when, and by whom.”
Decentralized Applications and Websites: User-generated content, application state, and frontend resources are stored directly on decentralized networks, ensuring persistence and auditability. Filecoin Nova has already been deployed as a proof-of-concept hosting project.
FOC Skills Is Now Live: Bringing the Full Storage Stack to Terminals and AI Agents
Filecoin Onchain Cloud now supports integration via three methods—CLI, MCP Server, and AI Skills—enabling developers to manage wallets, manipulate datasets, and orchestrate storage providers directly from terminals or AI Agents, without switching toolchains.
CLI: Interact with FOC directly from the command line—manage wallets, upload datasets, query storage status.
MCP Server: Expose FOC storage capabilities as MCP tools, callable by any AI system compliant with the MCP protocol.
AI Skills: Drive the Synapse SDK using natural-language instructions—Agents complete end-to-end storage and payment workflows autonomously.

CloudPaws: An Early Entry Point into the FOC Ecosystem
With the FOC mainnet live, CloudPaws Builders of Week (BOW) has also launched. Users can now join directly via the official website—accelerating entry into the FOC ecosystem and enabling whitelist applications. For developers and ecosystem contributors eager to explore, build, or deeply engage with Filecoin Onchain Cloud, BOW represents one of the fastest and most direct onboarding paths available today.
More broadly, CloudPaws is far more than just an event or registration mechanism. As the identity icon layer of the Filecoin Network, it establishes a recognizable, persistent identity layer for early builders, storage providers (SPs), and ecosystem contributors. Who built what, who contributed where, and who is becoming part of this network will no longer remain fleeting community actions—but will instead gradually crystallize into visible, memorable, and extensible identities and collaborative assets within the Filecoin Network.
