How was "Solara" born?
The listing of "Binance Life" on Binance Futures has sparked a fire for Chinese Meme coins.

On the evening of October 20, 2025, Solana's official account retweeted a post about its Chinese name "Suǒlālā" (Suo La La), marking official recognition of this community-driven naming initiative. Subsequently, the namesake Meme coin saw a significant price increase within a short time, with market capitalization currently reported at approximately $15 million according to GMGN data.

The naming process began on October 14, when content tokenization platform Trends.fun launched a campaign titled "Submit a Chinese Name for Solana," offering a prize pool of 100 SOL. Participants were required to quote and retweet the official post while submitting their proposed Chinese name, with the best proposal receiving a 66 SOL reward.
Mable, founder of Trends.fun, said upon launching the campaign that she was reminded Solana did not yet have an official Chinese name, noting that Ethereum’s Chinese name “Yǐtàifáng” (Ethereum) had helped ETH gain better traction in Eastern markets.

On October 15, Lily Liu, Chairperson of the Solana Foundation, commented under a post about "Suǒlālā," mentioning the connection between her own Chinese name "Lìlì" and "Suǒlālā." She explained that her parents chose the gender-neutral character "Lì" (立), perhaps hoping she would become a builder.
On October 19, user muper announced winning the prize in the Solana Chinese naming contest and pledged to donate the winnings to the Chinese community. He explained that the inspiration for "Suǒlālā" came from a post by the Solana Foundation chairperson, and their team created the name to represent a long-haired girl builder, symbolizing every builder striving on Solana.

On October 20, Lily Liu replied to muper’s tweet saying "cute picture," and simultaneously changed her profile picture to "Suǒlālā." That evening, Solana's official account quoted muper’s tweet with the caption “Suǒlālā,” completing the official endorsement of this Chinese name.
This series of interactions sparked market attention toward Trends.fun's namesake Meme coin “Suǒlālā.”

On the morning of October 21, muper posted again stating that transaction fee revenue earned on Trends.fun had already exceeded $20,000 in just half a day. He projected this figure would soon reach $100,000 and pledged to return trading revenues to the community.
Other Proposals During the Naming Process

During the naming campaign, the community proposed several alternative names. On the 16th, Toly, co-founder of Solana Labs, commented in Chinese that personally he thought “Suǒlānà” (Solana) was good, “Suǒlālā” was cute, and “Suǒnà” (which sounds like the Chinese musical instrument suona) was quite funny.
These suggestions reflect different perspectives within the community on how Solana should be named in Chinese. Ultimately, “Suǒlālā” stood out due to its interaction with the Solana Foundation chairperson and its viral spread across the community.
“Mystical” Interpretations of the Chinese Name
The influence of naming culture in the cryptocurrency space is not isolated. According to analysis by “Buyiju - Name Testing,” comparing Chinese names such as “Suǒlālā,” “Bǐtèbì” (Bitcoin), and “Yǐtàifáng” (Ethereum” reveals distinct interpretations.
“Suǒlālā” is interpreted as indicating “stable foundation, excellent prospects for success, and strong development potential in wealth, reputation, and influence.”

In contrast, “Bǐtèbì” (Bitcoin) is analyzed as “likely to achieve goals easily but lacks endurance”; “Yǐtàifáng” (Ethereum) is considered “even if capable, it may struggle to gain recognition or appreciation, resulting in wasted effort”; while “Binance Life” is viewed as “firm in will like iron, strong-willed, unwilling to yield, possessing profound talent capable of forging a brilliant and splendid future.”
As cryptocurrencies deepen their global expansion—and with Binance Futures listing the first Chinese-named token “Binance Life”—Chinese naming and cultural adaptation may become crucial elements in project growth. Just as the Chinese name “Yǐtàifáng” once boosted Ethereum’s presence in Chinese-speaking markets, whether “Suǒlālā” can bring new momentum to the Solana ecosystem remains to be seen through future market developments.
