Gavel emerges as Solana launchpad newcomer—what's behind platform test token IBRL?
Breaking the deadlock on MEV and bot frontrunning, development team Ellipsis Labs releases a new project.

"Increase Bandwidth Reduce Latency" (IBRL) is a key concept frequently emphasized by Solana co-founder toly, drawing significant market attention to the meme coin of the same name. Meanwhile, Gavel, the emerging launchpad behind IBRL, has emerged as a rising star in the Solana ecosystem by addressing challenges such as MEV and bot frontrunning.
Breaking MEV and Bot Frontrunning: Ellipsis Labs Strikes Again
Recently, Gavel has sparked widespread discussion on social media and received multiple public endorsements from toly.
Gavel is an end-to-end on-chain capital formation and liquidity launch platform for Solana, designed to tackle prevalent issues in current on-chain fundraising—such as bot frontrunning, MEV (Maximum Extractable Value) attacks, and liquidity sandwiching.
Gavel’s core mechanisms include: fair distribution (supporting various public sale models with proportional token allocation), anti-sniping (preventing bots from profiting; ensuring fundraising price equals listing price), anti-sandwich AMM (a dedicated AMM architecture preventing front- and back-running), temporary liquidity (automatically batching liquidity funds for token buyback and burn), and on-chain governance with automated execution.
In short, Gavel aims to reduce the negative impact of MEV on users and projects through technical innovation, enhance fairness and security in token launches, and provide Solana projects with efficient, low-cost funding and liquidity solutions.
To demonstrate Gavel’s full workflow, the team launched a test token $IBRL to simulate the complete mechanism of “public sale + listing + liquidity recovery + token burn.” The token has no present or future utility, and all funds raised are used 100% to validate Gavel’s operational logic.
$IBRL’s public sale attracted 2,480 investors and raised 30,747 SOL. At the time of writing, Gavel data shows $IBRL’s market cap exceeds $36 million, with approximately $32 million in trading volume over the past 24 hours. Around 3.97 million SOL worth of $IBRL has already been burned, with about 17,000 SOL remaining to be burned.
Ellipsis Labs, the developer behind Gavel, is a standout team in the Solana ecosystem, previously launching notable projects including Phoenix, SolFi, and SolFi. The company has secured tens of millions in funding from Paradigm, Robot Ventures, and toly himself. Co-founder Jarry Xiao previously worked at Solana Labs, while fellow co-founder @0xShitTrader has publicly highlighted the detrimental effects of sandwich attacks on Solana. He collaborated with Umbra Research—an unofficial Solana research group—and Paradigm executives on research into anti-sandwich AMMs (sr-AMM), which directly led to Gavel’s sr-AMM design.
Therefore, rather than competing with low-barrier meme launchpads like Pump.fun, Letsbonk.fun, or Believe, Gavel focuses on offering a professional-grade issuance framework with higher standards and stronger defenses for Solana projects requiring structured, high-quality financing.
For Solana, Gavel not only provides project teams with a more reliable issuance tool but may also become a key factor in attracting high-caliber projects. Notably, Franklin Templeton recently reported that 70% of AI agents prefer deployment on Solana due to its high performance and low transaction costs—yet Solana remains highly vulnerable to MEV.
Solana's MBTI Personality: IBRL as an Alternative Community Culture
Since last year, toly has repeatedly referenced "Increase Bandwidth Reduce Latency" in his posts, positioning it as the core technical narrative for optimizing Solana’s network performance. IBRL embodies not just Solana’s technical vision in blockchain—lowering barriers to decentralized capital markets through high throughput and low latency—but also reflects its ambition to replicate the depth and liquidity of traditional capital markets via technological innovation, eliminating costly intermediaries and enabling broader access for ordinary users.
In one post, toly humorously likened IBRL to Solana’s “MBTI personality type,” underscoring its high-performance and innovative traits in the blockchain space. He also shared a Solana roadmap website created by Helius CEO Mert Mumtaz, which features only the word “IBRL,” directly pointing to Solana’s core philosophy.
Currently, as Solana rapidly expands into the RWA sector, infrastructure like Gavel can offer specialized pairing capabilities for tokenized assets, further unlocking RWA potential and advancing the IBRL vision. For example, Kraken announced a partnership with Backed to launch the xStock platform on Solana, offering tokenized versions of U.S. stocks (e.g., Apple, Tesla, NVIDIA) to qualified non-U.S. customers; R3, the private Corda blockchain development team, will collaborate with Solana to enter the public “internet capital market,” bringing over $10 billion in real-world assets issued by asset managers and banks onto the chain; Monetary Metals and ORO Labs launched the first interest-bearing gold token on Solana, introducing a new yield-generating asset class for institutional investors; and online brokerage Robinhood submitted a 42-page RWA tokenization framework proposal to the SEC, explicitly naming Solana and Base as preferred networks for its RWA exchange.
Thus, IBRL is more than just a synonym for Solana’s performance optimization—it is evolving into a cultural symbol and strategic vision that supports the creation of a high-performance on-chain capital market.
As one of the pioneering implementations of this vision, Gavel is still in its early stages. Whether its mechanisms can achieve broad-scale adoption remains to be seen over time.
