Aiccelerate DAO: Accelerating Decentralized Open-Source AI Development
What's the magic behind Aiccelerate DAO, drawing support from Shaw, co-founder of ai16z; Ethermage, co-founder of Virtuals; and Jason, co-founder of Story Protocol?
By KarenZ, Foresight News
On January 10, despite the overall sluggish performance of the crypto and AI markets, a DAO named Aiccelerate DAO—an AI investment and development collective—has drawn significant attention. What makes this DAO, advised by Shaw (co-founder of ai16z), Ethermage (#001 contributor at Virtuals Protocol), Jason (co-founder of Story Protocol), and others, so compelling?
What is Aiccelerate DAO?
Aiccelerate DAO is an investment and development DAO focused on accelerating decentralized, open-source AI innovation. It aims to drive technological breakthroughs by merging the power of AI and blockchain, building an ecosystem that supports and nurtures decentralized open-source AI projects.
Within this ecosystem, Aiccelerate DAO strives to bring together developers across multiple technical frameworks to push the boundaries of AI and blockchain technology.
To achieve this goal, Aiccelerate DAO is building a developer-centric community dedicated to creating a suite of AI agents and tools. Through an open, collaborative approach, Aiccelerate DAO aspires to become a hub for the next generation of developers and investors, offering comprehensive support including follow-on investments, network expansion, and promotion for leading teams.
In addition, Aiccelerate DAO plans to launch a series of AI agents. Its first initiative is a public alpha/research agent designed to help users make smarter, fully transparent decisions.
Aiccelerate DAO Team and Advisors
Aiccelerate DAO has been under development for over two months. The team comprises members from top open-source AI teams or with prior experience at Coinbase and Consensys. Founding partners include crypto OG Mark, @cryptopunk7213, and @ropirito. Mark previously studied computer science and economics at the University of Pennsylvania and Seoul National University. He is currently part of the tokenomics working group at ai16z and actively involved in NFTs, Crypto x AI, and meme ecosystems. @cryptopunk7213 formerly worked at Coinbase and Consensys. @ropirito is a maintainer and partner at ai16z.

Notably, @ropirito, founding partner of AiccelerateDAO, announced he will donate all tokens held by his personal agent to the DAO treasury—irrevocably. He also plans to contribute tokens from other projects to the DAO treasury as locked capital to further support the project’s growth.
Aiccelerate DAO's advisory board is exceptionally strong, structured around four core areas: development, investment, research, and outreach, featuring key contributors from leading teams such as ai16z, Virtuals Protocol, and Abstract. These advisors will provide strategic guidance and resources to help Aiccelerate DAO achieve its objectives.
Development Advisors: Shaw (co-founder of ai16z), Ethermage (#001 contributor, Virtuals Protocol), cygaar (contributor, Abstract), Tachi (co-founder and CEO, Playgrounds), Jin (partner, ai16z), Karan (open-source AI developer), Nader (EigenLayer), Jason (co-founder, Story Protocol).
Investment Advisors: Andrew Kang (Partner, Mechanism Capital), Casey Caruso (Managing Partner, Topology Ventures), Anil Lulla (CEO, Delphi Digital), Marc Weinstein (Partner, Mechanism Capital), Tommy Shaughnessy (co-founder, Delphi Digital), Justin Lee (Coinbase Ventures).
Research Advisors: Sammy (researcher, Moca Network), Jeff ("Chief Chef", Steak Studio), Kel (independent researcher), baoskee (core member, daos.fun), Skely (ai16z).
Outreach Advisors: David Hoffman (co-founder, Bankless), Ryan Sean Adams (co-founder, Bankless), Threadguy (Probably Nothing).
Will AiccelerateDAO Launch a Token? How to Participate?
Regarding whether Aiccelerate DAO will issue a token and how to participate, the DAO stated that Aiccelerate DAO and all its initiatives will be managed under the AICC token. All DAO partners will receive benefits in the form of potential future airdrops and investment opportunities. Additionally, as AiccelerateDAO’s assets under management (AUM) grow, a portion of profits will be used to repurchase AICC tokens, positioning AiccelerateDAO as a multi-ecosystem Crypto x AI index.
The AICC token has not yet launched, but its contract address has been published, and fundraising is currently open on daos.fun. Aiccelerate DAO’s fundraising target is 500 SOL (approximately $94,353), with 378 SOL raised so far.
Users interested in becoming partners and participating in the presale can express their interest and demonstrate how they can contribute by retweeting, liking, and commenting on official posts. AiccelerateDAO will select suitable partners based on engagement levels and anticipated contributions (potentially inviting participants via Twitter DMs).
Summary
Given that AiccelerateDAO has not yet released comprehensive information, its future trajectory remains uncertain. However, backed by prominent figures from leading projects in both the AI and crypto spaces, AiccelerateDAO has already captured widespread industry attention. With a collaborative community of developers, researchers, and investors, open-source AI is poised for rapid growth.
