Author: Nancy, PANews
AI Agents are undoubtedly the core theme in today's on-chain market. From infrastructure development and tooling to DeFi and gaming, the rapid iteration of AI Agents is driving explosive market growth, capturing attention and dominating user mindshare. The steadily increasing trading volume share on DEXs versus CEXs further confirms this aggressive capture of liquidity and focus, signaling a structural shift in capital flows. According to data from The Block and DeFiLlama, spot trading volumes on DEXs relative to CEXs have significantly increased over recent months, reaching 20.2% by January 2025—a new all-time high.
In response to this trend, many non-AI crypto projects lacking strong narratives are rushing to join the bandwagon, hoping to ride the traffic wave generated by AI Agents. This article by PANews compiles 22 crypto projects actively building in the AI Agent space across gaming, public chains, payments, DeFi, and DePIN sectors. These projects are primarily accelerating the development of the AI Agent ecosystem through technical framework development and real-world application deployment.

Orca: Developing an AI Agent Version of Automated Bots
Orca is an AMM-based DEX on Solana. On January 6, ai16z co-founder Shaw revealed in an interview with BlockBeats that ai16z is collaborating with Orca to develop an automated agent capable of managing Orca’s liquidity pools. Users simply deposit tokens; if a pool doesn’t exist, it creates one automatically; if it does, it adds liquidity accordingly. The agent continuously monitors these pools and withdraws funds when conditions risk impermanent loss—such as significant price divergence—which addresses a major concern for most users. Users can also program parameters such as price spreads or adjust token pairing strategies.

Furthermore, io.net is working with ai16z to provide decentralized GPU computing power to support their model training and inference needs.
IoTeX: Launching BinoAI, the First AI Agent in the DePIN Sector
IoTeX is an open platform building modular AI + DePIN infrastructure. In December last year, IoTeX announced the launch of BinoAI, the first AI Agent in the DePIN space. Built on ELIZA-OS, BinoAI aims to lay the foundation for decentralized, autonomous consciousness evolution in DePIN. Through AI-driven learning, BinoAI autonomously acquires knowledge, analyzes insights related to DePIN, and securely accesses and interacts with on-chain data using ai16z’s ELIZA framework. Leveraging IoTeX’s decentralized DePIN module infrastructure, BinoAI operates in a fully decentralized and trustless environment, with applications spanning smart travel, energy systems, wearables, and smart homes.
Smolverse: Developing an AI Virtual Pet Game Based on Eliza
