Opinion: AI Agents "Take Over" from Memecoins to Enter a Super Cycle

Forget the memecoin supercycle—AI Agents outperform everything, and by a wide margin. The chart below compares price performance across narratives:
Over the past three months, the overall market cap of the AI Agents narrative has surged 7,000% (driven by new product launches), while Memecoins rose only 15.19%.
As shown in the chart below, considering the volatility of newly launched AI tokens, AI Agents have also excelled over the past 30 days, rising 75%, while Memecoins declined by 25%.
There are several reasons to compare Memecoins with AI Agents:
First, the memecoin frenzy was fueled by low-floating, high-FDV VC-backed tokens. Most AI Agents have learned from these negative examples and launched with little or no VC funding.
More importantly, many AI Agent tokens launch on platforms like Pump.fun or AI-focused incubators like Virtuals in a manner similar to memecoins. They begin trading at low market caps, allowing early buyers to benefit from price appreciation. Without the memecoin model, the performance of AI Agents might have been entirely different.
