TechFlow news, on July 15, according to South Korean media Bloter, sources revealed that Samsung Electronics has begun internal research on various plans for issuing ADRs in the United States and has started evaluating relevant operational processes. Bloomberg reported on July 14 that Samsung Electronics has held preliminary discussions with multiple investment banks regarding listing in the US via ADRs; Samsung Electronics responded that it is not considering listing in the US market through issuing ADRs.
However, market participants believe that Samsung Electronics' denial this time does not mean the possibility of issuing ADRs in the future has been completely ruled out. Although the company denied this plan, under the instruction of management, relevant business departments have begun to evaluate the potential costs, benefits, and required procedures for issuing ADRs. Semiconductor industry sources revealed on July 15 that company management recently requested relevant departments to study whether a feasible structure suitable for the company's issuance of ADRs can be designed. As part of the research, relevant personnel from Samsung Electronics have consulted SK Hynix, which recently completed an ADR issuance and listed on Nasdaq. (Jin10)
