Introduction
Recently, due to the popularity of other public blockchains, market attention toward Ethereum appears to have waned somewhat.
Is there a way to bring Ethereum back into the spotlight?
In a recent podcast, Vitalik Buterin suggested that the future focus will shift closer to the "application layer."

If Ethereum's next direction lies in aggressively developing "applications," then among existing Layer 2 solutions, Arbitrum's newly launched Orbit is something you must pay attention to.

From One, Nova to Orbit: Arbitrum’s Strategic Vision for Ethereum’s Future
If you've felt uncertain about market trends or Ethereum's development recently, Arbitrum Orbit might rekindle your optimism.
First, according to Growthepie data, Arbitrum ranks first in both stablecoin market cap and TVL, at $4.3 billion and $17.1 billion respectively—laying a solid foundation for its ecosystem growth.

Why is Orbit important?
For many users, Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova are more familiar names.
Arbitrum Orbit, as the latest product launch, enables users to build their own L2/L3 chains. The diagram below illustrates the key differences.

The structural relationship is as follows: developers can use Orbit to customize an L3 and settle on any Ethereum L2, or they can use Orbit to create an L2 with Ethereum as the settlement layer.

Recently, the Arbitrum Foundation submitted a proposal to Arbitrum DAO to consider allowing Orbit chains to be deployed on any public blockchain such as Bitcoin, BNB Chain, or Cosmos.
The proposal has already passed with over 99% support. This initiative will increase revenue for Arbitrum DAO and could positively impact the long-term development of the Arbitrum ecosystem.

So how is Orbit progressing?
Orbit Progress and Project Overview
From the beginning of the year to now, Orbit chains have attracted over 55 projects spanning DeFi, Gaming, NFTs, and Infrastructure—including leading names such as Degen Chain, DODO Chain, and Plume Network.
Additionally, more than 100 other projects are currently in the process of deployment.

Overall, if the Ethereum ecosystem shifts toward greater application development, Orbit will undoubtedly play a crucial role. After just over a year since launch, the Orbit ecosystem has already taken shape. Moving forward, should wealth effects emerge within the ecosystem, Orbit, Arbitrum, and the broader Ethereum ecosystem will inevitably attract even greater attention.
