5 Key Trading Rules for MEME Coins: Follow the Trend and Take Profits Promptly
Memes are high-risk investments; when someone wins, others lose.

During this period, many meme traders have accumulated substantial wealth.
Investing $100 in $WIF seven days after its launch would now be worth $1,800,000. Investing $100 in $BODEN five days after its launch would now be worth $1,500,000.
With the right investment strategy and conviction, you could be the next person to make significant profits from memes.
Here are five rules I follow to succeed in memecoin trading.

Follow the Trend
If memes on Solana are surging, trade on Solana.
If memes on Base are surging, trade on Base.
Don't get attached to any specific blockchain or project—we're here to make money.
Go where the money is. To profit, you must move with the flow and trends.

Follow the "Smart Money"
Open Dexscreener and look for recently surging memes.
Check the "Top Traders" section to find a whale who made 10x–1000x returns.
Previously, I followed a $MEW trader who turned $9,809 into $745,000 within days.
Interestingly, he still holds $750,000 worth of MEW.

Create your smart portfolio watchlist. Use the method above to select 3–10 successful traders, and verify whether they’re still actively trading other tokens and their win rate.
By doing so, you'll be able to identify promising meme tokens ahead of others.
Use On-Chain Tools to Analyze Whale Wallets
For EVM chains, use Arkham and Zerion.
For Solana, use SolanaFM and Step Finance.
If you come across a wallet that achieved 200x–1000x returns from a small investment, it's likely a sniper.
Use Dexscreener to compile a list of successful snipers and track their strategies—try to spot projects early and snipe at launch.

There are various bots available:
For ETH, BASE, BLAST, try Banana Gun and Unibot.
For Solana, try BONKbot and SolTradingBot.
Three Signals
-
Trend alignment: Match current chain and token narratives, such as cat coins or dog coins;
-
Strong TG and Twitter communities;
-
High visibility in the crypto space.
For early-stage tokens, the latter two criteria may not yet apply.
For early tokens:
-
Use TweetScout to see if influencers have shown interest;
-
Refer to lunarcrash for deeper insights into their social presence.

When to Sell?
We don’t want to be the last one holding the meme.
Gradually sell when prices reach all-time highs, and sell when major news drives sharp price increases.
Of course, don’t sell everything—avoid selling too early and missing further upside.
The chart below shows common price behavior patterns during the early stages of memes.

Remember, memes are high-risk investments; when someone wins, someone else loses.
Only invest what you can afford to lose.
