KEY3.id launches Bored Ape domain .bayc, the first digital identity soulbound to a blue-chip NFT
DID application KEY3.id launched its first blue-chip NFT-backed .bayc digital identity (DID) today at 8:00 PM, now open for minting to all Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT holders.
On November 24, DID application KEY3.id launched its first blue-chip NFT-backed .bayc digital identity (DID) at 20:00 (UTC+8), opening minting to all Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT holders. BAYC NFT holders can claim a corresponding numbered DID for free on KEY3.id, such as 0000.bayc. Each .bayc is uniquely bound to one Bored Ape NFT, with a total supply capped at 10,000.

According to official materials, the .bayc DID is the first Asset-Bound Token (ABT) linked to a blue-chip NFT, available exclusively to NFT holders and non-transferable. KEY3.id CEO Kory Pak stated on Twitter that .bayc could usher in an "Asset as your DID" era.
The launch of .bayc was immediately embraced by numerous BAYC NFT holders, including prominent Web3 KOLs. Michael Cameron, CEO of Game Space, minted 6669.bayc and changed his Twitter display name to "Michael Cameron 6669.bayc"; former Huobi Global CEO 0xLivio claimed 2883.bayc and similarly updated his Twitter name. Discussions about .bayc are rapidly spreading across major Bored Ape communities.

Michael Cameron commented: “.bayc perfectly combines the premium nature of the BAYC domain with the memorability of 4-digit numbers. Being claimable only by NFT holders ensures it effectively reflects asset ownership. It’s expected to become the most sought-after DID and may even boost prices for top-tier NFTs like Bored Apes—especially benefiting premium-number assets.”
Several BAYC NFT holders told us that the most valuable aspect of .bayc lies in its ABT feature, which ensures seriousness and integrity—each DID is permanently tied to the NFT, cannot be traded separately, and will be destroyed if the underlying NFT is transferred or sold.
Kory Pak, CEO of KEY3.id, said that KEY3.id will collaborate with dozens of wallets, DeFi, GameFi, SocialFi platforms, and other DApps—including BitKeep Wallet and KuCoin Wallet—to integrate .bayc domains into use cases such as identity verification, payments, social interactions, and airdrops.

In addition to .bayc, KEY3.id will also support DIDs bound to 20 other blue-chip NFTs including .punk, .doodle, and .mfer. According to the official website, a community voting event will begin in early December, with the NFT project receiving the most votes that week gaining eligibility for domain minting.
