KEY3.id announces the results of the first round of blue-chip NFT-bound domain name voting, with Mimic Shhans community winning and unlocking the .mimic DID
Under the dull bear market conditions, this event has sparked a wave of enthusiasm and discussions across major blue-chip NFT communities, ushering in a new hotspot for NFTs.
On December 8, KEY3.id, a DID application, announced the results of its first round of voting for premium NFT-backed domain names, which was initiated on December 5. Amid a sluggish bear market, this campaign has sparked significant enthusiasm and discussion across major blue-chip NFT communities, creating a new focal point in the NFT space. After four days of intense competition, the Mimic Shhans community emerged victorious with 1,059 votes, securing the corresponding .mimic DID. Holders of Mimic Shhans NFTs can now mint their own .mimic premium domains on KEY3.id.

The second round of voting will begin on December 8 at 20:00 (UTC+8), with votes carried forward and accumulated from the previous round. Currently leading are .mfer, .punk, and .doodle, though the race remains tight. All holders of eligible NFTs and .did domain names can participate, and users who voted in the first round may continue voting in the next phase.
Previously, KEY3.id announced that multiple wallets including BitKeep Wallet and Game Space App, as well as various DApps, have integrated support for blue-chip NFT-linked domains. This means users holding domains such as .bayc and .mimic can now use them for identity verification, transfers, social interactions, airdrops, and more—accessing over 70 different blockchains and managing storage for more than 220,000 types of crypto assets and NFTs.
Kory Pak, CEO of KEY3.id, stated: "After the successful launch of .bayc, we’re excited to see .mimic DID now open for minting. Through active participation from top-tier NFT communities, we’re seeing strong recognition of the value of Asset Bound Tokens."
A Mimic Shhans NFT holder commented, "One of the most valuable aspects of blue-chip NFT-bound domains is the Asset Bound Token feature. It not only gives us a recognizable DID but also ensures the seriousness and authenticity of the DID, truly embodying the concept of 'Asset as Your DID.' With this added value, I can now prove I am the genuine owner of this NFT."
The key characteristic of an Asset Bound Token is that it is tied to the NFT—once the NFT is transferred, the associated domain is automatically destroyed. KEY3.id’s second-phase rollout of .bayc premium domains attracted widespread interest from BAYC holders, including notable Web3 KOLs. Michael Cameron, CEO of Game Space (6669.bayc), and former Huobi Global CEO 0xLivio (2883.bayc), both minted .bayc domains and updated their Twitter handles accordingly.
Michael Cameron said: ".bayc perfectly combines the prestige of the BAYC brand with the memorability of a 4-digit domain. Being claimable only by NFT holders, it effectively showcases the holder's assets and is expected to become one of the most sought-after DIDs. It could even drive up prices for top-tier NFTs like Bored Apes, especially benefiting premium-numbered ('cool number') assets."
Despite ongoing bear market conditions, interest in DIDs remains strong. Through community voting, KEY3.id plans to support over 20 additional blue-chip NFT-backed domains, including .punk, .doodle, and .mfer. Most NFT collections are numbered, particularly blue-chip projects like BAYC, Azuki, Clone X, and Moonbirds. With only 10,000 four-digit premium domains available, having an asset-backed DID is not only rare but also highly collectible.
Kory Pak also mentioned that upcoming updates will support linking addresses on public chains such as BSC and TRON, greatly benefiting users who frequently transfer funds between “on-chain wallets and exchanges.”
Currently, premium domains linked to blue-chip NFTs such as .bayc and .mimic are supported by BitKeep Wallet and Game Space App. Further collaborations are planned with leading industry players including KuCoin Wallet, iToken Wallet, Bybit, Coinhub Wallet, ONTO Wallet, Assure Wallet, and Element.market—spanning wallets, DeFi platforms, exchanges, and DAOs—to jointly advance the development of the DID ecosystem.
