ETHLisbon Hackathon Winning Projects Overview: On-chain Storage, Security, and Data Privacy
Ten projects awarded at the Ethereum Lisbon Hackathon.
Written by: Morty, TechFlow
On October 31, ETHLisbon Hackathon came to a close. A total of 97 projects and 352 developers participated in this hackathon.
Below, we’ll walk you through the ten winning projects from this event.

Deterministic Encryption and Storage via Snap and IPFS
(Hereinafter referred to as "D")
"D" is an application designed to protect users' dApp data in a decentralized manner, with its core being "EIP-5630". "D" built a MetaMask Snap application that implements "EIP-5630", and provides a wallet interface that uses the user's private key for encrypting and decrypting data. User data within dApps will be stored in a decentralized way via IPFS.
Realms Assassins - Fog of War
Realms Assassins - Fog of War is a data storage protocol for on-chain gaming launched by BibliothecaDAO. Built on Starknet, it aims to solve the problem of encrypting trusted public information.
BibliothecaDAO’s goal is to protect on-chain players’ data privacy—only allowing access to such data when certain conditions are met. It compares the "Fog of War" mechanic to a trusted third-party "Dungeon Master" that stores private information, enabling multiplayer on-chain games without requiring zk hashing.
SafeCheck
SafeCheck’s slogan is “Better insights about your transactions,” helping users understand the destination address and transaction outcomes before sending any transaction.
Essentially, SafeCheck lowers the barrier to blockchain participation, making it beginner-friendly.
Archive the Web
Archive the Web allows users to schedule automatic website archiving at fixed intervals (e.g., every 60 minutes), storing archives on Arweave. Users must pay fees using ETH, ERC-20 tokens, or AR.
Additionally, Archive the Web developed a custom MetaMask Snap that enables direct interaction between MetaMask and Arweave/Bundlr. Users can interact with SmartWeave contracts via the new Warp Ethereum signer using only their ETH/ERC-20 wallets.
Use cases for Archive the Web include but are not limited to:
1) Earning and preserving digital history;
2) Archiving government (historical) websites;
3) Archiving personal or corporate websites;
4) Archiving news articles;
5) Recording authentic historical records;
6) Adding a layer of data redundancy to Internet Archive / Wayback Machine efforts by launching a parallel web archiving initiative.
Multi Resolver Snap
Multi Resolver Snap is a Snap application that takes over the resolver function for dApps. With Multi Resolver Snap, users can send cryptocurrency to anything—Twitter handles, email addresses, ENS, Lens profiles—and developers no longer need to integrate multiple resolvers. Multi Resolver Snap aims to simplify the Web3 experience.
Snap-Sync Verkle Trees (VerkleIPFS)
Snap-Sync Verkle Trees attempts to achieve faster and sustainable retrieval by leveraging IPFS to conduct proof-of-concept (POC) and draft retrieval of Verkle Trees using snapshots from recent blocks.
VerkleIPFS is a proof-of-concept tool that allows generation and retrieval of mainnet Verkle Trees in significantly reduced time by utilizing compressed snapshots stored on the IPFS network.
Snap-Sync Verkle Trees aims to address a core development challenge in Ethereum—prolonged Verkle Tree computation times—by using IPFS.
Lekker Finance
Lekker Finance is a decentralized perpetual futures trading tool built on Euler Finance. It allows users to enter leveraged positions on Euler Finance and open those positions in a single transaction via flash swaps. Lekker Finance aims to streamline the futures trading process.
Zilly - ETH Lisbon
Zilly is an embedded widget that helps brands create Web3 membership programs. Through Zilly, brands can boost user engagement and loyalty via specific activities.
Trust Score Snap
Trust Score Snap helps non-technical users assess the safety level of interacting with smart contracts. It displays a simple 🟥 🟧 🟩 score based on factors including:
1) Popularity of the smart contract;
2) Frequency of interactions between the user’s wallet and the contract;
3) How long the smart contract has been deployed, among other metrics.
It presents the risk level of interacting with a given smart contract in a simple, intuitive way.
GlacierDAO
GlacierDAO is a decentralized autonomous organization aiming to preserve open-source code as a public good. They believe that code, like data, should be preserved in a censorship-resistant manner.
