Opening New Doors
Located at One Raffles Place, the new office aims to support Singapore’s goal of becoming a global cryptocurrency hub by providing more secure and efficient blockchain and smart contract interaction tools, developing local talent, and building enterprise partnerships. The launch event featured an AMA and roundtable discussion with special guests including Member of Parliament and CEO of Business China Tin Pei Ling, Chairman of the Singapore Blockchain Association Chia Hock Lai, Chief FinTech Officer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore Sopnendu Mohanty, and other prominent speakers from MetaMask Institutional, MarketNode, Rajah & Tann, Deloitte, A&T Capital, HashKey, and Fenbushi Capital.
"We look forward to scaling our products and services across Asia. Many key players and partners are already here in Singapore. Operating from Singapore enhances the efficiency and accessibility of our business across Asia and the Middle East," said Changhao Jiang, Co-founder and CTO of Cobo.
The Road Ahead
In 2018, Cobo created the world’s first cryptocurrency wallet with PoS staking functionality—Cobo Wallet. The company has since developed and offered various SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solutions, including the world’s first WaaS (Wallet-as-a-Service) in 2019 and DaaS (DeFi-as-a-Service) in 2021.
This year, Cobo launched two new service offerings: NaaS (NFT-as-a-Service) and Argus, a smart contract interaction tool. Building on this, Cobo is currently developing Cobo Chain, its latest product—a shared wallet infrastructure supporting multi-chain and multi-layer custody.
Singapore as Asia's Hub
Cobo aims to support Singapore’s digital ambitions by providing technological infrastructure and developing the blockchain/crypto ecosystem, enabling crypto-native users to securely access DeFi protocols and interact with smart contracts.
"We hope to partner with family offices, organizations, funds, and traditional institutions in Singapore’s financial sector, as we see strong synergies in working with these firms by offering our blockchain and digital asset expertise and technology. We also look forward to creating diverse employment opportunities for locals and students, particularly in computer engineering," added Dr. Changhao Jiang, CTO of Cobo.
Currently, Cobo employs a diverse team of Singaporeans, including members of its senior management team, where executive decisions and strategy are executed locally in Singapore. The company also collaborates closely with educational institutions, offering scholarships and internships to promising students, particularly those studying computer engineering in Web3 fields. Going forward, Cobo will lead operations in Singapore as a major regional player, expanding solutions to assist institutions across the region.
