This is far from an ordinary "wallet update"
@chintanturakhia from the @CoinbaseWallet team once said they were all-in on building the “best app.”
I decided to try it myself because the old Coinbase Wallet felt more like a 2020 product, focused on NFTs and DeFi.
The new version centers around “discovery, trading, social, and network effects.”

The biggest highlight is Coinbase’s tight integration with Farcaster!
Users can import all their social data with one click, meaning you’re instantly connected to your network and can use mini-apps within the app without switching contexts.
Huge win for users!

The old wallet had no social discovery at all. The new version uses Farcaster data to let you browse feeds and even switch to video mode.
This also explains why @dwr and @varunsrin were repeatedly testing video formats on Farcaster earlier…
Once the new Coinbase Wallet launches, we’ll see a huge surge in video content on Farcaster!
Seamless token swaps and trading!
While basic for any crypto app, the new wallet removes NFT and DeFi sections, resulting in a cleaner, clearer interface.

New feature: Built-in AI chat assistant!
I love seeing companies embrace AI. Currently, two crypto AI bots are live—@bankrbot and @Byte__AI—and they work seamlessly.
Sidenote: XMTP logged me out, but after testing, it wasn’t a big issue.
Notifications powered by Farcaster data!
Viewing notifications and supporting chat/DMs inside the app makes the new wallet even stronger.
This also positions Coinbase as the largest Farcaster client.

Core wallet functions remain solid!
