UAE: Claims About Issuing Golden Visas to Crypto Investors Are False
According to UAE state news agency WAM, the UAE Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICP), Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), and Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) jointly issued a statement denying rumors circulating online about the UAE issuing golden visas to cryptocurrency investors. VARA clarified that TON Company is neither licensed nor regulated by VARA.
ICP explained that the issuance of golden visas follows clear official frameworks and standards, which do not include cryptocurrency investors. Eligible categories include real estate investors, entrepreneurs, outstanding talents, scientists and experts, top students and graduates, humanitarian pioneers, and frontline workers.
The three agencies jointly urged the public to obtain accurate information through official channels and warned against believing unverified advertisements or offers online.

On-chain analyst AI Auntie (@ai_9684xtpa) posted on X stating that claims about WLFI testing liquidity additions are false. Screenshots circulating in communities and on Twitter showing 150 million $WLFI being added as liquidity actually reveal, upon checking block explorer details, that the address added “150 million fake WLFI tokens and 0 real WLFI tokens,” yet the transaction still appears under the LP section.
The contract address (CA) for genuine WLFI is 0xdA5e1988097297dCdc1f90D4dFE7909e847CBeF6. The token remains non-transferable, and the proposal to enable transfers is still under vote—exercise caution against scams.
JD.com and Ant Group Propose RMB Stablecoin Issuance Under Central Bank Authorization
According to China Business News citing Reuters, JD.com and Ant Group, Alibaba’s financial affiliate, are lobbying China’s central bank to authorize the issuance of renminbi (RMB) stablecoins to counter the growing influence of dollar-denominated stablecoins. The two companies propose launching stablecoins pegged to offshore RMB in Hong Kong, aiming to promote global use of the RMB and reduce the dominance of the U.S. dollar in digital finance. Additionally, JD.com and Ant Group plan to issue stablecoins pegged to the Hong Kong dollar after new legislation takes effect on August 1. During discussions with the People’s Bank of China, JD.com stressed the urgency of issuing offshore RMB stablecoins to advance RMB internationalization.
ZhongAn Online Completes HK$3.9 Billion Share Placement
According to Caixin, ZhongAn Online has completed the placement of 215 million new H-shares, raising a total of HK$3.924 billion. The placement price was HK$18.25 per share, representing 13.15% of the enlarged issued H-shares and 12.76% of the total issued share capital.
Earlier, following the passage of Hong Kong’s Stablecoin Bill, ZhongAn Bank announced it would become the first digital bank in Hong Kong to offer dedicated reserve banking services for stablecoin issuers, partnering with Ony币, one of the HKMA’s首批 sandbox participants.
