99% of airdrops are a waste of time—don't bother with these 5 popular projects
True alpha will never happen in crowded places.

99% of airdrops are a waste of time.
Finding genuine alpha opportunities is arguably the hardest part.
Below are the popular airdrop projects I'm currently not participating in.
Do you think I'm wrong? 👇

1. Base
-
Entered too late
-
The claim of “no token” now sounds odd
-
Two-year airdrop farming usually ends in disappointment
-
Just use the network—don’t expect anything.
2. Unichain
-
Belief in a potential Unichain airdrop stems purely from Uniswap’s precedent with the $UNI airdrop
-
Doing a few trades to avoid FOMO is fine
-
Technically, this chain already has a native token; there might be future reward programs
It's no longer my priority.
3. Zero Network
Airdrop farming activities have stopped.
-
The project fundamentally doesn't need to issue a token
-
Rewards are concentrated among top leaderboard users, and climbing ranks requires significant investment—no need to participate
-
Current ecosystem activity is purely speculation-driven, with unclear incentive rules from the team
-
You can connect your wallet and earn XP, but don't actively farm
I use Zerion because it has solid products, not for an airdrop.
4. INK
Expectations around an INK airdrop stem from hype by exchange Kraken, but the official team has clearly stated there are no current plans to launch a native token.
Participating in testnet tasks may ease FOMO, but don’t expect much.
If there’s no token issuance, rewards seem impossible—this is purely market speculation at this point.
5. MetaMask
-
MetaMask is already a top-tier crypto wallet—there’s no need to rely on an airdrop for extra attention
-
Rumors about a $MASK token launching in pre-markets are purely speculative
-
If MetaMask did launch an airdrop (with vague eligibility, small rewards, or high token volatility), it could actually damage its brand
-
Simply conduct normal transactions—again, don’t expect anything.
If you're chasing big airdrop returns, perhaps consider projects like Monad, Eclipse, or Farcaster instead.
