Succinct, which raised $5.5 million: Building a decentralized prover network—how to participate in the testnet and earn rewards?
Succinct's vision is to enable anyone to become a prover, leveraging their own computing resources to provide verification services for the blockchain world.
Author: Ren Zai Bi Quan
Succinct has now opened its closed testnet, allowing users to obtain invitation codes by participating in community activities, contributing content, and more, to join various games within the testnet and earn rewards.
1. Introduction to Succinct
Succinct is building a decentralized prover network aimed at reducing blockchain validation costs and latency by decoupling transaction execution from verification. Its core technology, SP1 zkVM, leverages GPU optimization and efficient recursion to achieve a 10x performance improvement, while also achieving Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility, providing solutions for cross-chain bridging, instant fund withdrawals, and other use cases.
The Succinct Network is not only suitable for existing ZK applications such as rollups, cross-chain bridges, and identity verification, but also opens up broad possibilities for future innovative applications. At the same time, it skillfully employs cryptographic economic incentives designed to elevate global proving capacity to new heights.
In simple terms, Succinct's vision is to enable anyone to become a prover, leveraging their own computing resources to provide verification services for the blockchain world.
2. Advantages of Succinct
The author believes that Succinct has two main advantages:
The first is fundraising. Succinct’s funding is impressive, raising $55 million led by Paradigm, with participation from Robot Ventures, Bankless Ventures, and others. Both lead and participating investors are highly notable.
The second is the globally distributed proving cluster and the proof competition (all-pay auction) described in the whitepaper.
-
A globally distributed proving cluster can be understood as today's transportation system, where each carrier has its own "delivery capability"—some specialize in small packages, some in large ones, some offer speed, others wide coverage. Together, these carriers form a "global transportation network" providing delivery services across cities. In the Succinct Network, the globally distributed proving cluster serves as this "global transportation network," except instead of delivering goods, it provides verification services—provers worldwide (hardware, data centers, home devices) collectively supply computational and verification power to the blockchain network.
-
The proof competition (all-pay auction) incentivizes users to generate proofs by submitting requests with attached fees. Provers compete in an auction to win the right to generate proofs. The unique aspect of the proof competition (all-pay auction) is that all participants must pay a small "bid fee" to demonstrate sincerity. This ensures users can access services at the market's lowest price, while service providers continuously optimize hardware and algorithms to reduce costs through competition.
3. Succinct Testnet
Succinct opened its testnet on February 11. Since it is a closed testnet, this guide will cover how to obtain an invitation code, enter the testnet, and explain the in-testnet games.
(1) How to Obtain an Invitation Code
There are still ample opportunities to join the testnet. Invitation codes can be obtained through the following methods:
-
Participate in weekly events hosted by the community. Join the Succinct Discord server, go to the #contest-details channel, review the current week's event rules, participate according to your skills, and post your work on X or in the #submissions channel on the server.
-
Be active in the community; if you're sufficiently active, you may receive an invitation code.
-
By contributing content such as articles, artwork, memes, etc., you may be manually granted a code by the official team.
-
Invitation codes are occasionally released on X, though due to time zone differences, they may not be convenient for users in UTC+8.

Recommendation: The author suggests that participating in events is the easiest way to get an invitation code—simply submitting work that aligns with the theme typically guarantees one. If you lack specific skills, consider deeper engagement via the second method.
(2) Entering the Testnet
-
Go to https://testnet.succinct.xyz, click "ENTER TESTNET", then click "CONTINUE"
-
Follow the steps to connect your wallet;
-
Enter a 10-digit invitation code;
-
Link your X account;
-
Make a deposit. (To participate in the testnet, you must deposit 10 U. Currently, only one-time deposit of 10 U is supported, which is a one-time expense and won't require further deposits.)
(3) In-Testnet Game Instructions
Currently, there are five games in the testnet, with the following rules:
1. Superprover
Click on blocks to earn Succinct testnet stars. After testing, each successful click earns one star, costing around 0.1 U in gas fees.

2. Ethereum
Select an Ethereum block to prove, numbered 1–5. Larger blocks require more computation but offer higher star rewards.

3. Play Flappy Bird
Fly the bird—the higher your score, the more points you earn. Testing shows approximately 0.5 stars per pole passed, making stars easier to obtain than before, though U spending increases accordingly.

4. TruthLens
Select images you believe were AI-generated. Free to play, but limited to once per week. Based on testing, selecting all options gives 10 points.

5. Turbo
Dodge blocks and collect the pink SUCCINCT icon—same rules as classic dodge-block games. Testing shows approximately 1 star per 10 points, with a gas cost of 0.1 U.

The testnet was updated on February 19, balancing rewards across all games. Now, 10 U can generally yield between 100–110 stars.
4. Summary
Whether considering fundraising or technical advantages, Succinct is a project well worth participating in. Currently, around 20,000 people have joined the closed testnet. Given that deposits are required, there is a high likelihood of future incentives.
If you don’t yet have an invitation code, don’t worry—actively engage in community activities. Obtaining codes is currently not competitive, and as time progresses, more testnet slots will likely open up.
