Galxe announced the upcoming launch of Gravity, a Layer 1 blockchain designed specifically for omnichain experiences and full-chain abstraction. Galxe plans to integrate its core products onto the Gravity chain, aiming to deliver seamless and scalable Web3 solutions for its 20 million users.
Galxe stated that over the past three years, its user base and transaction volume have grown exponentially, highlighting an urgent need for more efficient, scalable, and secure cross-chain interaction solutions. Existing solutions fall short in supporting the required complexity and scale, whereas Gravity is positioned to address these challenges by offering integrated and simplified experiences for both developers and users.

What is Gravity?
Gravity is an omnichain settlement layer built for mass adoption and complete chain abstraction. It abstracts away the technical complexities of blockchain interactions and integrates advanced technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs and state-of-the-art consensus mechanisms to ensure high performance, security, and cost efficiency.
At launch, Gravity will seamlessly integrate with Galxe’s existing suite of products, including Quest, Compass, Passport, Score, Alva, and the Galxe Identity Protocol. These integrations are expected to enable Galxe to process up to 60 million monthly transactions on Gravity—twice the volume of Ethereum’s mainnet. Gravity also simplifies multi-chain asset management, cross-chain transaction settlement, and user-friendly transaction flows, shielding users from complex underlying technologies.

What Are Gravity’s Key Features?
Cross-Chain Transactions: Gravity enables developers to process and settle transactions across multiple blockchains, enabling more efficient and secure interactions.
Efficient Verification: Supports economically efficient zero-knowledge proof verification, ensuring transactions are cost-effective and secure.
Enhanced User Experience: By introducing cryptographic primitives (such as the secp256r1 curve) via precompiled contracts, Gravity enables use cases like passkey authentication for account-abstraction wallets, significantly improving user experience.
High-Performance Execution: Gravity integrates Reth—the fastest execution layer—with Jolteon (AptosBFT), the most advanced consensus algorithm. Together, these technologies deliver high throughput and near-instant finality.
Secure and Robust PoS Mechanism: Gravity’s proof-of-stake will be powered by native staking of the G token and restaking protocols including Babylon and EigenLayer.
EVM Compatibility: Gravity will be fully EVM-compatible, allowing developers to seamlessly deploy and interact with smart contracts.
When Will Gravity Launch?
Galxe stated that Gravity’s rollout will occur in two key phases. The Gravity Alpha Mainnet will launch in June 2024, powered by the Arbitrum Nitro technology stack, testing cross-chain settlements using a public ledger instead of centralized backends in a transparent production environment. In Q2 2025, Galxe will launch the Gravity Mainnet—a restaking-powered PoS Layer 1 blockchain with Reth serving as its EVM execution engine.
