Vitalik shared his vision and outlook for the future of blockchain and Ethereum.

The second ETHTaipei Ethereum Developer Conference will take place from March 21 to 24 at the Nangang Bottle Cap Factory, bringing together numerous internationally renowned developers and teams. Vitalik Buterin, founder of Ethereum, will join as a keynote and panel speaker, actively participating in the event to share insights on the latest blockchain trends. The conference is expected to attract over 1,000 attendees.
Spanning four days, the event features two days of workshops and a 40-hour hackathon, offering direct collaboration opportunities between Taiwanese and international developers. Key themes include Ethereum, ZK, DeFi, and Security, with discussions on cutting-edge developments such as the restaking ecosystem, real-world applications of zero-knowledge (ZK) technology, and how ZK can converge with AI to drive innovation.
Vitalik Buterin to Share Ethereum’s Future Roadmap Post-Cancun Upgrade
ETHTaipei will host a number of high-profile guests, with the most anticipated being Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. He will deliver the opening keynote on the first day of the forum (March 21), sharing his vision and outlook for Ethereum and the broader blockchain landscape.
Ethereum has just completed its "Cancun Upgrade" (Dencun) today (March 13), enhancing network performance and scalability. Vitalik will discuss Ethereum's long-term roadmap and offer perspectives on the evolution of the entire blockchain ecosystem. Additionally, he will participate in two panel sessions with researchers and leaders from Layer 1 and Layer 2 projects, including co-founders and technical leads from Optimism, Polygon, Zircuit, and Metis.
Hackathon Prize Pool Exceeds 2 Million TWD
The hackathon, launching on the evening of March 22, boasts a prize pool exceeding 2 million TWD, generously supported by leading global and local teams including Consensys, Polygon, OP Labs, Mint Club, Ora, Zircuit, MACI, Ten Protocol, Dyson, Morpheus Labs, OpSec, ThunderCore, Scroll, and Spacemesh.
Conducted in a hybrid format, the hackathon allows for anonymous online participation, while an on-site 24-hour Hacker House will provide snacks, drinks, and collaborative space for teams to brainstorm and code. Industry experts will serve as mentors throughout the three-day event, enabling participants to learn from top professionals and rapidly enhance their skills.
Circle, Quantstamp, XY Finance, AppWorks, and More Recruiting On-Site
Numerous well-known blockchain companies will host booths at the venue to engage directly with developers and recruit talent, including Polkadot, OKX, XY Finance, Harvest, Zomma, Teahouse Finance, Circle, imToken, and Quantstamp. AppWorks will also set up a booth to assist portfolio companies within its ecosystem with hiring.
Representatives from Taiwan’s Digital Development Ministry will be present to promote the “Digital Gold Card” program, offering consultation services aimed at attracting more international digital talents to contribute to Taiwan’s digital economy. Nuvo will also host on-site missions and hidden activities to enhance engagement and enjoyment for attendees and hackers alike.
