Interview with Molly, Spokesperson for Huobi HTX: Throwing a Birthday Party for “Huobi Bao”—What Is Huobi HTX Really Trying to Say?
HTX (formerly Huobi) launched its HuoBao Birthday Event, unveiling a brand IP upgrade and five user personas, emphasizing integrated user engagement and brand building through earn-token programs, derivatives trading services, and offline interactive experiences.
May 18 marks the birthday of HuoBao—the official brand IP of HTX. On this day, the newly upgraded HuoBao made its formal debut to users. HTX hosted a “HuoBao Birthday Fantasy Carnival,” transforming the venue into a series of game booths. HTX’s “Top Female Hosts”—who normally answer user questions in livestreams and community groups—were all present, taking on the role of booth attendants to interact face-to-face with users and KOLs.
Recently, HuoBao underwent a major strategic upgrade, officially becoming HTX’s “emotional totem” and digital brand avatar. Building on this, HTX launched the “HuoBao Dream Team”—five distinct character designs representing five typical crypto-user archetypes—and simultaneously released HuoBao-themed T-shirt blind boxes.
Why launch this initiative—and why now? What philosophy underpins HuoBao’s evolution? We sat down with Molly, HTX’s official spokesperson, at the birthday event to find out.

Q1: HuoBao’s upgrade—from mascot to “emotional totem” and “digital brand avatar”—is a significant leap. Why did you make this move?
Molly: This is a question I’m especially eager to discuss.
Honestly, even we feel the term “mascot” no longer fully captures HuoBao’s role. We’ve seen long-time users routinely include HuoBao emojis in group chats, create memes featuring HuoBao, and even rename their wallet addresses to “XX Bao.” At that point, calling HuoBao merely a “mascot” feels inadequate. It’s no longer just an image—it’s become a shared understanding between users and HTX.
This upgrade aims to articulate that relationship clearly: HuoBao is HTX’s digital brand avatar—and users’ emotional totem. Put simply, HuoBao isn’t something HTX presents *to* users; it’s something HTX and users co-create and nurture together. The crypto industry is already cold and rational enough—candlestick charts, derivatives, on-chain data—all numbers. What we aim to do is add warmth beyond those numbers. HuoBao embodies that warmth.
So this year’s birthday holds special significance for us: it’s the first time the new HuoBao formally steps into the spotlight before users. Rather than hosting just a party, we’re upgrading our user service.
Q2: Alongside the birthday event, HTX unveiled the “HuoBao Dream Team”—five character designs. Could you tell us more about them?
Molly: I’d love to introduce the HuoBao Dream Team. These five designs didn’t emerge from thin air—they were drawn directly from real users.
First is TieTou Bao (“Iron-Head Bao”), also known as Diamond Bao. He represents crypto’s most steadfast users—those who hold through bull markets, bear markets, and every market twist and turn. His head bears a diamond; his gaze is unwavering; his faint smirk says, “What’s all the panic about?” His slogan: “Never check your balance—forever tearful, forever believing in HOLD.” I know veteran HODLers who’ve held since 2017—this truly reflects their mindset. We deeply respect this user group.
Next is my personal favorite: Contract Bao. A bandage adorns his cheek—a nod to having been “slapped by the market”—yet he doesn’t care. He trusts neither trends nor experts, neither KOLs nor even his own last trade decision. He only believes “this time is different.” His slogan is brilliantly crafted: “Between bullish and bearish, he chose to be unbothered.”
Then comes Charge Bao—also nicknamed “P-Lieutenant”—fast-fingered and bold, the type who goes all-in the second the market opens. His slogan remixes a classic crypto meme: “Got it—charge! Win, and you’ll party with models; lose, and you’ll dive into the sea.” Many crypto opportunities are seized precisely by this fearless energy.
The fourth is New-Coin Bao—the crypto world’s curious baby. His eyes light up at anything new, pupils literally glowing. While others hesitate, he’s already diving in—and he dives accurately, embodying the motto: “Luck is also skill.” He’s always among the first to jump on new listings on HTX.
Finally, let me highlight Savings Bao. His persona? “HTX’s Biggest Winner of 2025–2026.” Sunglasses-clad, calm, composed—he remains serene amid K-line volatility while others chase momentum. His slogan: “No matter how wild the market swings, HTX savings stay rock-solid.”
Why crown him “Biggest Winner”? That choice reflects a key strategic insight—I’ll elaborate shortly.
In short, each of these five HuoBaos mirrors a genuine user mindset. We want every user to know: whichever type you are, HTX sees you. That’s why we turned the five characters into T-shirt blind boxes—we want HuoBao to exist not just on screens, but physically *on* users. Whichever design you pull is your personal crypto-world identity tag.

Q3: You specifically highlighted Savings Bao as the “Biggest Winner.” Does this signal that “earn-on-crypto” has become HTX’s top business priority this year?
Molly: Yes—and its importance exceeds external perceptions.
Let me share something surprising even to us. Ahead of this birthday event, we conducted a user-welfare survey and interviewed top-tier clients. The most-requested benefit? Earn-on-crypto interest-boost vouchers—not contract fee discounts, not airdrops, but earn-on-crypto interest-boost vouchers.
When that feedback surfaced, our team debated extensively. For years, exchanges have been synonymous with contracts, leverage, and high-frequency trading. But now—even many top-tier clients—are shifting their asset mindset, placing “stable returns” higher on their priority list.
Our backend data confirms this trend. HTX’s earn-on-crypto business has posted positive user growth for five consecutive quarters; core stablecoin volumes have grown double-digit for four straight quarters. Users’ choices speak louder than any words.
Thus, earn-on-crypto is our top marketing and investment focus this year. Savings Bao wasn’t arbitrarily crowned “Biggest Winner”—he personifies this very trend.
Q4: Could you walk us through a concrete example of an earn-on-crypto product—so we better understand what HTX is actually doing in this space?
Molly: Let me highlight our VIP Flexible Product, launched at the end of March this year. Designed specifically for high-net-worth users, it currently supports USDT—with APY reaching up to 9%.
What does 9% mean? Most mainstream flexible products offer APYs between 1% and 2.5%. The VIP Flexible Product delivers several times that yield—without lock-up; funds remain instantly accessible.
Another key feature: deep integration with our Prime membership system. Only Prime 5+ members qualify. This reflects an important principle: users of varying sizes and needs require tailored products and yield structures—not one-size-fits-all solutions.
For large USDT holders, this means secure passive income during volatile markets—or instant liquidity as a cash buffer. For HTX, it extends our Prime ecosystem and carves out differentiated positioning for earn-on-crypto in the premium segment. Flexible products will inevitably evolve toward personalization and tiering. The VIP Flexible Product is our first step in that direction.
Q5: Beyond earn-on-crypto, what other key product or business initiatives is HTX highlighting this year?
Molly: Contracts remain a top priority—and will continue to be.
Contract performance has consistently impressed users. Feedback from frontline account managers, community channels, and on-site events all confirm one thing: HTX’s contract experience keeps improving.
Specifically, a critical initiative this year is deepening our TradFi (traditional finance) integration. HTX’s TradFi Contract Zone now supports over 50 assets—enabling users to diversify beyond crypto-native instruments into broader traditional financial products.
To users, contracts shouldn’t be just a leverage tool—they should function as a comprehensive asset-allocation map. We aim to equip users with exactly that map via HTX contracts.
So our clear dual focus this year is earn-on-crypto and contracts—two complementary pillars. One serves stable-return needs; the other serves active-trading needs. Together, they cover most real-world user scenarios.

Q6: At this birthday event, HTX’s “Top Female Hosts” all stepped out as booth attendants to engage users directly—an uncommon practice in the exchange industry. Could you introduce the Top Female Hosts team?
Molly: The Top Female Hosts represent a unique HTX team. Selected through the “Top Female Host” competition, they’re far more than customer-service superstars—they’re dedicated builders of the crypto industry. Each focuses on a specific business domain and resolves user issues across diverse touchpoints.
A quick intro: I’m HTX’s official spokesperson; GunGun handles large-account management; XiaXia leads livestream operations; Saki manages merchandise; YiYi serves as P-Network Ambassador; PP is the Sun Wukong Ambassador; Xiao Du champions HTX DAO development.
Each corresponds to a business line and user scenario. Bringing all Top Female Hosts onto the stage—out from behind the screen—underscores that HTX is powered by real people. Our customer service combines ticketing systems and AI assistants with named, personality-driven, warm, and conversational human support.
Q7: Following the HuoBao Birthday Event, what’s next for HTX in user service and brand building?
Molly: HuoBao’s upgrade is just the beginning—not the finish line.
Internally, we believe Web3 has moved past the phase where pure tech specs and speed dominate. The next race is about retention: Can users stay long-term? Can platforms forge genuine trust and companionship with users?
So moving forward, HTX will advance on two parallel tracks: On the business side, we’ll solidify earn-on-crypto and contracts—ensuring users’ assets have destinations, yields, and safeguards. On the brand-and-service side, we’ll deepen “warm” connections—HuoBao, Top Female Hosts, offline events—to transform the HTX–user relationship from platform-to-account into something deeper and more meaningful.
The more volatile the industry grows, the more vital it is to preserve warmth. The rest? We leave to time.
Thank you.
