A Guide to LAVA Network Points Campaign and Testnet Interaction Tutorial
Lava will offer a reward points system called Magma prior to launching its mainnet in the first half of this year.

2024 is widely considered to be the year of airdrops.
With Starknet recently launching its token and listing on exchanges, market expectations for airdrop projects continue to rise, prompting investors to actively seek out more opportunities for potential gains.
Lava Network is one such project.
On February 15, Lava Network announced it had raised $15 million in seed funding led by Jump Capital, TRIBE Capital, and Hashkey Capital, with plans to launch its mainnet in the first half of this year.
Prior to mainnet launch, Lava has introduced a testnet rewards points program called Magma. Although the team hasn't officially confirmed that Magma points can be exchanged for Lava's native token in the future, currently this is the only way for regular investors to participate in the network and qualify for potential airdrops.
This article provides an overview of Lava’s business and offers a step-by-step guide to participating in the points campaign:

What is Lava?
Lava is a modular blockchain built using Cosmos SDK, focused on providing data access. Its core functionality includes enabling scalable interactions across more than 35 blockchains and rollups via remote procedure calls (RPCs) and indexing, leveraging incentivized public RPCs.
The protocol introduces a primitive called "specs," allowing contributors to permissionlessly add support for new chains and data services to the base protocol. Data consumers send requests to Lava’s network of data providers (node operators), who join Lava to fulfill these data needs. Lava creates a dynamic, scalable marketplace for blockchain data services, incentivizing node providers and decentralized application users to feed blockchain data into the network.

How to Participate in the Points Campaign?
The LAVA points campaign is very straightforward—essentially involving social media engagement and replacing your wallet’s RPC settings.
-
First, go to the official website, enter an invite code (easily found via Twitter from various KOLs or comment sections), then click Proceed.

- Connect your MetaMask wallet and follow their X (Twitter) account and join the Discord community.
-
Click Dashboard to view your RPC endpoints for each supported chain. Currently, five networks offer points incentives: Near, STRK, ETH, AXELAR, and EVMOS.

-
Replace your RPC: Taking Ethereum as an example, open your MetaMask wallet, go to network settings, and select "Custom Ethereum Network."

Click "Add Network," paste the Lava RPC URL copied from the official website, then save:

- Network Name: Lava Ethereum
- New RPC URL: The RPC link you copied from the LAVA website.
- Chain ID: 1
Once completed, the basic setup is finished. Simply use this custom ETH network for regular transactions each week to earn points—no additional actions are required.
How to Interact with the Testnet?
In addition to earning points, you can also interact with LAVA’s testnet to perform asset transfers. Follow these steps:
-
Create a Keplr wallet. If you already have one, you can use your existing wallet.

-
Visit the following site to add the LAVA network to your Keplr wallet: https://docs.lavanet.xyz/wallet/#keplr

-
Then, open "Manage Chain Visibility" in your Keplr wallet and enable the LAVA network.

-
Go to the faucet page on the website and choose to get test tokens via Discord. After joining the "faucet" channel, type $request followed by your Lava address from your Keplr wallet: https://docs.lavanet.xyz/faucet/#discord-faucet

-
Go to https://explorer.kjnodes.com/lava-testnet to create an account.
-
After creating an account, go to the Delegate page and select an active testnet validator to stake with: https://explorer.kjnodes.com/lava-testnet/staking

-
Finally, transfer a certain amount of LAVA to yourself to complete the task: https://explorer.kjnodes.com/lava-testnet

That covers all current instructions for earning points and interacting with the testnet. For any future updates regarding rules or rewards, stay tuned to Lava Network’s official website and social media channels.
