OKX Chief Innovation Officer Jason Lau: Unlocking the Innovative Power of OKX Inscriptions
Through the OKX Web3 wallet, a one-stop platform, users can seamlessly inscribe, list, buy, and sell inscriptions across multiple blockchain networks with zero trading fees.
Following OKX Web3 Wallet's early support for the BRC-20 standard under the Ordinals protocol, its Ordinals marketplace has grown into the leading trading platform for BRC20 inscriptions and BTC NFTs. To further collaborate with the community and advance the Bitcoin ecosystem, OKX will once again take the lead by supporting the ARC-20, SRC-20, Runes, and DRC-20 standards—responding to widespread user interest and demand. In this regard, Jason Lau, OKX Chief Innovation Officer, has published an article titled "Unlocking the Innovative Power of OKX Inscriptions," sharing his insights on inscription market innovation and OKX’s continued commitment to leading infrastructure development in the inscription ecosystem.
Below is the full text from OKX Chief Innovation Officer Jason Lau:
Inscriptions emerged in early 2023 when users began engraving text, images, and multimedia onto the Bitcoin network. This innovation quickly became a phenomenon as the crypto community discovered new ways to build and trade assets such as NFTs and tokens using inscriptions. Since then, numerous innovative inscription standards have emerged, sparking strong interest and active participation across various communities.
OKX has been a strong supporter of the inscription ecosystem, enabling developers to launch tokens quickly and efficiently while setting industry trends. By simplifying token issuance through inscription, we've paved the way for users to explore tokenization without needing to build or deploy separate protocols. The inscription wave surged rapidly, spreading from the Bitcoin network to other major public blockchains—starting with Bitcoin’s BRC-20 protocol, and later even extending to Dogecoin. Because of this, we’ve remained actively engaged with the community, thoughtfully building products that support the growth of inscriptions and the broader expansion of crypto assets within the Web3 ecosystem.
Our goal is to stay at the forefront of the inscription innovation wave, and today I’m excited to share significant updates to OKX’s industry-leading inscription products.
In the coming weeks, OKX will expand further into the largest all-in-one ecosystem in the Web3 industry for minting, buying, selling, and trading inscriptions by adding support for four leading inscription standards: Atomicals (ARC-20), Stamps (SRC-20), Runes, and Doginals (DRC-20). Currently, the OKX Web3 wallet and marketplace already support exploration and inscription creation across 23 major blockchains, including Bitcoin, Polygon, and Ethereum.
Specifically, the OKX Web3 wallet will first integrate Bitcoin-based Atomicals, Stamps, and Runes, along with Dogecoin’s Doginals standard, allowing users to view and transfer inscriptions under these standards. In the following weeks, the OKX NFT marketplace will also integrate Doginals and Atomicals, enabling trading of these inscriptions.
Why does this matter? Today, inscriptions across different blockchains and standards remain like isolated “islands,” creating significant complexity and barriers for most users. OKX has always envisioned driving mass adoption through simple, user-friendly Web3 products. By integrating multiple leading industry standards into a single platform, OKX Web3 Wallet enables seamless experiences for users to list, buy, sell, and interact with inscriptions across multiple blockchain networks—all with zero trading fees.
Furthermore, we are leveraging OKX’s technological strength and innovation leadership to enhance product reliability and functionality. Features such as batch minting and automatic error detection set new benchmarks in usability and performance. At the same time, OKX’s dedicated inscription hub and inscription tracking tools empower users to learn more and deeply explore this rapidly growing ecosystem.
With inscriptions offering a powerful new way for users to directly store data and artwork on-chain, engagement with cryptocurrencies becomes richer and more participatory. OKX users will soon enjoy mining and participating in inscription experiences across dozens of protocols—we can’t wait to hear your feedback.
