How to farm rewards safely and efficiently?

Many people missed the Aptos airdrop and have now started airdrop farming. As someone who entered the airdrop scene last year after missing the ENS drop—and personally spent 7.746 ETH (averaging over $4,000 each) just on gas fees—I’d like to share some advice with those starting out:
First, prioritize security. Many newcomers are entering airdrop farming, making them easy targets for scammers.
-
a. Use a dedicated wallet solely for airdrop farming, not your main savings wallet.
-
b. Always access project websites through links from their official Twitter profiles, as phishing sites can look nearly identical to real ones.
Second, increase your chances of qualifying. Everyone knows there's no guarantee—you might do everything right and still miss out while others succeed.
-
a. If using multiple accounts, ensure strict environment isolation—avoid interacting from the same IP or device across accounts.
-
b. Depth of interaction matters (aim to become a genuinely active user). For DeFi projects on mainnet, aim for at least 5 interactions and total transaction volume exceeding $10,000.
-
c. Join the project’s Discord community to stay updated and boost your activity level within the group.
Third, evaluate whether a project is worth your effort.
-
a. Prioritize projects with high mainnet gas costs—if you’re financially able, go for them. High barriers mean fewer competitors.
-
b. Projects that have raised over $100 million in institutional funding are worth targeting—they’re well-funded.
-
c. Popular projects that meet the above two criteria deserve serious attention. Focus on quality rather than blindly increasing account numbers.
-
d. Don’t skip projects that are widely discussed but technically challenging. For example, some users were deterred from Aptos due to node setup requirements.
Finally, where to find projects and tutorials? Here are some trusted bloggers and communities I recommend:
-
996DAO Community—the largest mod-heavy community discussing many early-stage projects. No step-by-step tutorials, but you can join via founder @0xbitsun.
-
Uncle Jian @jianshubiji, a blockchain educator who occasionally posts video tutorials.
-
Landlord Eleven @11dizhu, focused on airdrops and provides detailed guides. Also check out 8848 Community.
-
@8848community, an airdrop-focused community—no major airdrop will slip past these guys.
-
Zhui Feng Community @ZF_lab, also specialized in airdrops with comprehensive tutorials.
A few final words:
Maintain a healthy mindset, whether farming airdrops or investing. Doing everything doesn't guarantee rewards—but doing nothing guarantees you'll get nothing. Missing out hurts, but a missed opportunity isn't a real opportunity. There are plenty more in crypto; focus on improving yourself and preparing for the next one.
Wishing everyone who reads this article success in landing their own major airdrop.
