Istanbul Blockchain Week is Eurasia’s premier web3 and digital assets event, inviting the world to Istanbul—one of the cities with the highest cryptocurrency adoption rates. The week-long celebration kicks off on November 14 with NFT Day and culminates in the flagship "IstanBlock" event at the renowned Hilton Bomonti Hotel.
Istanbul Blockchain Week is assembling a world-class lineup of speakers across web3, including Sebastian Borget from The Sandbox and legendary cryptographer David Chaum, alongside top exchanges such as Binance and Coinbase, major corporations like Mastercard and Vodafone, and leading institutional players such as UNICEF's Innovation Fund. Game industry talent includes former Square Enix CTO Hashimoto Yoshikazu, who personally oversaw franchises like Final Fantasy and Sonic Unleashed, joining voices from gaming, fashion, music, and entertainment to celebrate web3 culture.
The event will harness this incredible potential, offering attendees opportunities for panel discussions on investment, privacy, metaverse + NFTs, and global government policies. As the region’s leading blockchain gathering, it also offers a chance to connect with thousands of informed and engaged participants in a historic, beautiful city that bridges two continents.
The two-day flagship IstanBlock event begins on November 15 and features an exciting program including educational workshops led by top web3 builders, hackathons, networking zones, a VIP dinner, and an official afterparty held at a unique and historic venue in Istanbul. Builders and web3 startups will also have the opportunity to participate in a Pitch Competition, presenting their projects to top investors for funding and mentorship.
Introducing W3E, the World’s First Live Web3 Esports Championship
The week will also host W3E, the world’s first live Web3 esports championship. Created by gamers for gamers, the event aims to place blockchain-based gaming at the heart of the conversation. Our gaming partner is EV.io, a fast-paced first-person shooter and one of the most popular games on the Solana blockchain.
The tournament will take place at ESA Esports Arena, where teams from Europe and Asia will compete for a $15,000 prize pool and the chance to take home the inaugural W3E Championship trophy—including an NFT version.
NFT Day on the 14th will be an exciting deep dive into the transformative world of blockchain-based digital collectibles. Panels and sessions will explore the role of NFTs in the metaverse, how NFTs are reshaping the future of ownership, and how to discover the most exciting projects shaping our future—and more. For those eager to view some of the most exciting collections firsthand, an NFT gallery will be available for attendees to explore. Confirmed speakers include representatives from top NFT projects such as Lazy Lions, Hape, and Kusama Kings, with more announcements coming soon.
The Future of Web3 Begins in Turkey
With 20% of Turkey’s population owning or using cryptocurrency and over 25 million unbanked citizens, Turkey remains one of the most fertile grounds for the growth of cryptocurrency and decentralized technologies.
Currently, regulations around cryptocurrency and blockchain-based digital assets in Turkey are unclear or nonexistent, making it an ideal moment to discuss policy in one of the world’s leading emerging economies. Amid market volatility—and with a potential global recession looming—discussions about the transition to web3 and crypto-based finance have never been more critical.
“Turkey is the perfect location to bring together web3 heavyweights, policymakers, venture capitalists, and major web2 brands looking to enter web3,” said Erhan Korhaliller, founder of Istanbul Blockchain Week and CEO of blockchain PR firm EAK Digital.
“Adoption of web3 in Turkey is highly promising, presenting an exciting opportunity for the country to establish itself as a leader in this space. We look forward to showcasing to the world the passion and talent Turkey has to offer the industry, while providing international projects with exciting opportunities to meet, collaborate, and join the Turkish community.”
