Huobi HTX Contract Lead Fully Breaks Down: What Huobi Contracts Got Right in 2025 and Where It's Headed
From a systematic perspective, directly engaging users, comprehensively analyzing Huobi HTX's key progress in derivatives over the past year, and clearly outlining the business roadmap for 2026.

In 2025, as competition in contract trading intensifies, HTX's derivatives business has seen its user base double, thanks to robust risk management and continuous product iteration. As 2026 approaches, how will HTX Futures position itself? And what are the insights behind the recently spotlighted “Copy Trading 4.0”?
In the fifth episode of "HTX Executive Face-to-Face," YOYO, Head of HTX’s derivatives business, systematically addressed users for the first time, comprehensively unpacking key developments over the past year and clearly outlining HTX’s strategic blueprint for 2026.
Copy Trading 4.0: A System-Level Product Restructuring
Copy Trading 4.0—a product refined over three years (initiated in 2023, iterated in 2024, and exploding in December 2025)—is seen as a benchmark for HTX’s human-centric transformation in derivatives.
YOYO summarized this upgrade with three keywords: more user-friendly, more transparent, and safer.
Architecturally, the copy trading system is now deeply integrated with the futures trading interface, achieving “one development, dual-platform coverage.” This means all new futures features can seamlessly sync into the copy trading framework, significantly accelerating product evolution.
From a user experience perspective, Copy Trading 4.0 introduces intelligent follow-trading mode. Users can execute relatively risk-appropriate follow trades without complex parameter setups, greatly lowering the barrier for beginners. It also allows seamless switching between follower and leader roles.
On the risk control front, separate capital pools are used when following different traders, preventing position mixing. Followers can also fully replicate a trader’s leverage settings, ensuring synchronized risk exposure. Additionally, order logic has shifted to position-based logic, making information clearer and more concise.
According to YOYO, Copy Trading 4.0 marks a critical leap—but not the final destination. Going forward, HTX will continue evolving the copy trading ecosystem by integrating high-quality traders and AI-driven strategies, while further strengthening its risk control infrastructure to make copy trading safer, smarter, and suitable for long-term use.
Year in Review: What Did HTX Get Right in 2025?
Looking back at the past year, YOYO described HTX’s derivatives growth as “cumulative progress.” She revealed that HTX’s derivatives user base grew 2–3 times in 2025.
This growth, she emphasized, was not driven by short-term market booms but rather reflects users’ long-term trust in the platform—built upon HTX’s two enduring strengths: brand foundation and service capability. These assets are increasingly becoming sustainable competitive advantages for its derivatives business.
● Security & Risk Control: The Foundation of Long-Term Trust
The first pillar is its risk management and security system. For derivatives traders, safety remains the top priority.
YOYO noted that over 12 years, HTX has steadily refined its risk control systems, establishing comprehensive defenses covering fund segregation, system stability, and responses to extreme market conditions. Whether during recent industry volatility on October 11 or multiple sharp market swings earlier in the year, HTX’s derivatives platform avoided any major systemic incidents. Its proven resilience under repeated stress tests has become a cornerstone of lasting user confidence.
● Liquidity Development: A Key Milestone in Derivatives
On liquidity, YOYO shared that since April, HTX has significantly improved depth across major and some secondary cryptocurrencies, nearly doubling overall liquidity—an important achievement for 2025.
She acknowledged room for improvement in long-tail and trending assets. Moving forward, the team will solidify liquidity for K2 and secondary assets while deploying diversified solutions to continuously optimize liquidity across all assets. This capability is being built into one of HTX’s core, long-term competitive moats.
● Trading Speed & System Performance: Catering to High-Frequency & Quant Traders
For high-frequency and quant traders, execution speed and system performance are paramount. YOYO explained that in May 2025, HTX launched its cross-margin system, enabling cross-currency hedging strategies for assets like BTC and ETH, while boosting API trading speeds by nearly fourfold.
A significant portion of high-frequency quantitative trading has already migrated to this system. Meanwhile, the underlying matching engine continues to be optimized, with a next-generation version expected to launch in Q1 2026, further enhancing smoothness and stability in futures trading.
● Financial Product Matrix: Enhancing Capital Efficiency & User Retention
Beyond core trading capabilities, the gradual formation of HTX’s financial product suite has become a vital complement for long-term user retention.
Since launching YuBao in December 2024, HTX has focused on improving capital efficiency. Designed around “low threshold, instant deposit and withdrawal,” YuBao offers annualized returns on funds held in the premium account. YOYO revealed that YuBao will undergo a major upgrade in 2026, potentially increasing yield capacity by 2–3 times while maintaining its low entry barrier.
Meanwhile, HTX continues enhancing grid trading and copy trading systems. The grid system was upgraded in 2025, followed by the launch of Copy Trading 4.0 at year-end.
In 2026, the team will increase investment in AI-powered trading tools, including AI trading assistants and integrated strategy functions, aiming to deliver proven, mature strategies to users with lower barriers, helping them achieve sustained, long-term profit growth.
YOYO emphasized that throughout its growth, the HTX derivatives team has consistently engaged directly with users, listening through various channels and using real feedback as the driving force behind product optimization. This positive loop has not only deepened user trust but also laid a solid foundation for business growth. With sincerity and dedication toward every user—and strong group-level support—the team’s responsiveness, from receiving feedback to implementing product updates, is becoming faster than ever.
Next-Stage Capability Building in Contract Trading
Looking ahead to 2026, HTX’s derivatives strategy remains clear and focused: continuously strengthen foundational capabilities in product refinement, liquidity structure optimization, capital efficiency enhancement, and deeper risk control. One particularly important shift is now underway: returning greater proactive risk control authority to users.
In YOYO’s view, the platform’s responsibility goes beyond providing stable systems and safety nets. Through thoughtful product and mechanism design, HTX should equip users with mature, clear, and actionable risk management tools—enabling them to actively manage their own trading risks after fully understanding potential exposures. This means that atop existing security and risk frameworks, HTX Futures will help users establish more transparent and controllable risk management pathways, transforming risk control from a passive outcome into an integral part of trading decisions.
Clearly, HTX’s ambitions extend beyond mere scale expansion, aiming instead toward more mature trading infrastructure and clearer risk management paradigms.
From system-level product restructuring to elevated risk control philosophy, HTX Futures is tackling a deeper, long-term question: In a highly volatile crypto market, how can more users participate in futures trading in a more controlled and rational manner, achieving sustainable value? This may well define its next phase of competitive advantage.
