On September 1, Huobi HTX's latest "Huoban 1+1" session invited 0xMoon, founder of MoonightClub, and Ted.Eth, an expert in investment research and information analysis, to share their practical experiences and investment insights in the crypto market on the topic: "From Research to Practice: How to Find Definite Opportunities in the Web3 Market?"
Huoban 1+1: How did you enter Web3? When and in which sector did you earn your first major profit?
0xMoon: I was previously active online as a "meme blogger." In April 2021, I entered the crypto industry in a rather surreal way. At the time, I had been unemployed for half a year and was struggling financially. During a family trip, I saw a friend’s screenshot of profits from Huobi, which sparked my interest. Through a referral, I joined a paid crypto community and officially entered Web3. Leveraging my initial understanding of the industry and riding the 2021 bull market wave, I quickly got started. Prior to that, I briefly encountered Huobi in 2019 when Bitcoin was around $5,000, investing 100 yuan in Cardano (ADA), but exited due to losses.
In my first month after entering (May 2021), I earned a seven-figure return from a Meme coin project. However, the following month, I nearly lost all those gains on another project. This taught me a golden rule: never add to positions above cost basis—a principle I’ve strictly followed ever since.
Ted.Eth: I entered Web3 in 2021 through a friend's introduction. Between July and September that year, I earned my first major profit from the Meme coin "Baby Doge." Back then, I discovered projects via Twitter and Telegram communities, using on-chain data analysis to identify active ones. However, the subsequent bear market made me realize that money earned by luck could be lost without proper risk management—setting take-profit and stop-loss levels is key to capital preservation.
Huoban 1+1: Which Web3 sectors are you currently focusing on? What are the profitable channels available?
0xMoon: Recently, I've mainly profited through Meme coin airdrops and strategic investments. The 2025 market is extremely difficult—almost "hell mode." Small profits (a few thousand to tens of thousands of dollars) are relatively easy to achieve, but replicating the multi-million-dollar returns of 2021 is very hard. The market now filters traders more rigorously; unless you have exceptional skills, willingness to take large positions, or extraordinary luck, it's tough to succeed.
I'm currently focused on arbitrage, wealth management, and DeFi strategies, avoiding dollar-cost averaging into major coins at high prices, and instead prefer buying during price drops typically seen in traditional "bear markets."
Ted.Eth: This year, I used on-chain data to detect early whale accumulation signals, entering before broad market attention and capturing opportunities in Trump-related Meme coins. Currently, I’m mainly watching AI, GameFi, and SocialFi sectors. In my view, Web3 has shifted from a retail-driven speculative phase to one dominated by institutions with stronger regulation. Increased transparency reduces information asymmetry, but market reactions are faster, leading to greater psychological pressure on holdings.
Huoban 1+1: Any advice for new crypto users?
0xMoon: I suggest newcomers experiment actively with small capital on emerging narratives. Even with just $50–$100, you might catch a big opportunity. Don’t compare yourself to large players—small capital offers flexibility and lower stress. Continuous learning and participation in new narratives are crucial.
Ted.Eth: Use on-chain analysis tools to monitor market dynamics and reduce risk. Focus on projects with low trading volume but strong fundamentals, and patiently wait for a second breakout. Maintain a diversified portfolio across 8–10 projects, set stop-loss levels at 20–30% to manage risk. Patience and data-driven decisions are essential.
Huoban 1+1: How do you view your frequent interactions with Brother Sun?
0xMoon: Yes, sometimes I intentionally consider whether my writing might attract Brother Sun’s reposts, but I mostly aim to provide objective value. My first interaction with him was during the "$HTX Consensus Diary" series—he reposted every article, which excited me greatly. Personally, I believe Brother Sun uniquely combines "courage, marketing skill, and luck." I was among the first to recognize that "Brother Sun is a rising star," which is why I frequently engage with him on social media.
Huoban 1+1: What are your thoughts and suggestions for Huobi HTX's development?
0xMoon: In my opinion, Huobi HTX has excellent products, and recent UI upgrades in the app have significantly improved user experience. I suggest moderately increasing wealth management yields—such as dual-currency investment returns—to stay competitive with other exchanges.
Ted.Eth: Huobi HTX excels in fast project listings, high liquidity, and strong security, while its trading volume and event designs enhance user engagement. I recommend integrating advanced data analytics tools to help users quickly identify trends and develop risk management strategies, along with adding automated trading features to improve user experience.
