At 23:00 Beijing time on March 20, U.S. President Trump delivered remarks via video at the Digital Asset Summit (DAS) held in New York City. This marks the first time in history that a sitting U.S. president has spoken at a conference focused on cryptocurrency.

Hello everyone, participants of the BlockWorks Digital Asset Summit. It's an honor to speak with you about how America will lead in cryptocurrency and next-generation financial technology.
This isn't easy, but we're already far ahead. Just two weeks ago, we hosted the first-ever White House Digital Assets Summit, bringing together leading figures from the global crypto industry. That event was led by David Sacks, our White House AI and Cryptocurrency Director—a truly outstanding and talented individual.
In the same week, I signed an executive order establishing a new Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and a U.S. Digital Assets Reserve, enabling the federal government to maximize the value of its holdings—unlike Biden, who foolishly sold them off at prices far below their long-term value, recovering only a fraction of their worth.
We will end the previous administration’s regulatory war against cryptocurrency and Bitcoin, including terminating the unlawful "Operation Chokepoint 2.0." Operation Chokepoint went well beyond legitimate regulation—far beyond—and amounted to a legal battle using government weaponry. Frankly, it was disgraceful. But starting January 20, 2025, all of this will come to an end.
I’m also calling on Congress to pass landmark legislation establishing simple, common-sense rules for stablecoins and market structure. With the right legal framework, institutions large and small will be free to invest, innovate, and participate in one of the most exciting technological revolutions in modern history.
This is extremely important. I believe it is unprecedented.
Pioneers like you will improve our banking and payment systems, delivering greater privacy, security, and prosperity to American consumers and businesses. You will unleash explosive forces for economic growth.
Through dollar-backed stablecoins, you will help expand the dominance of the U.S. dollar. The dollar will maintain its leading position for many years to come—and that’s exactly how we want it. We want it to stay on top, permanently.
I can already see the energy and passion within the crypto community—the very spirit needed to build our nation. Watching you invent the future of finance is incredibly exciting.
And all of this will happen here, in the United States—in our great America.
