Those truly dedicated in the crypto space understand that no matter what the next meme frenzy is, cryptocurrency itself holds intrinsic value. That value lies in its ability to create innovative systems that transcend borders.
DeSci (Decentralized Science) is one such ecosystem already making waves in the crypto world. This innovation is now poised to advance using the same momentum that fuels meme coin mania.
Innovation always needs a little push.
This is where Pump.Science comes in—an experiment in science powered by cryptocurrency, successfully combining innovation, healthspan, and token mania into one initiative.
Imagine it as the fusion of a college biology class with an innovation-driven DeFi conference. But in Pump.Science, instead of dissecting frogs, we're exploring the secrets of longevity.
Of course, cracking the code of longevity is like getting into a rule-free wrestling match with a bear. But if successful, we might just replace gym memberships with longevity tokens (sorry, fitness enthusiasts).
Pump.Science will lead us down this path. Join us as we dive deep into what it is, how it leverages the Pump.Fun craze to extend human lifespan, and how to use it.
Let’s dive in.
What is Pump.Science?

Pump.Science is a gamified platform. Your goal is to conduct scientific experiments within the game designed to maximize the lifespan of test subjects.
At the end of each experiment, the final score is calculated via PLE (Percentage of Lifespan Extension), which measures how much a test compound extends the animal's lifespan. These experiments are conducted in stages.
If, at the conclusion of the current experiment, the market cap of the compound’s token reaches the next predetermined target, funding is unlocked for subsequent phases.
The progression is straightforward—start with simple organisms, then gradually move to more complex ones. The game has three tiers:
Tier 1: Worms
Initial experiments are conducted on worms. High-quality drug trials cost approximately $300–$500.
Tier 2: Flies
If experiments succeed on worms, they proceed to flies. Trials at this stage cost around $2,000–$3,000.
Tier 3: Mice
If the drug proves effective on flies, testing moves to mice. Mice typically live 2–3 years. Experiments at this stage cost between $30,000 and $60,000.
Keep these funding figures in mind—they’ll become relevant shortly.

Tokens for each drug fund these experiments.
The next natural question—what role does cryptocurrency play here?
The game uses a milestone-based funding model. Suppose you’re a researcher who discovers a new drug capable of extending human lifespan.
To run experiments, you need funding. You can submit your intervention plan and launch a corresponding token via Pump.Fun. Interested participants in the market—such as active investors from meme communities—can purchase these tokens.
Tokens are sold at the following thresholds:
-
Tier 1 (Worms): $500 worth of tokens unlock when market cap hits $70,000
-
Tier 2 (Flies): $2,500 worth of tokens unlock when market cap hits $1 million
-
Tier 3 (Mice): $20,000 worth of tokens unlock when market cap hits $3 million
This allows anyone interested to participate in research. This model is known as “stadium science.” Experiments unfold live before our eyes, enabling speculators, experts, researchers, or enthusiasts to engage based on their interests (and perhaps make some profit).

So you get fun, excitement, knowledge, and entertainment—all wrapped into a mental thrill ride.
Where are these experiments conducted?
The experiments take place on Tracked Bio (in Fly Box) or on Ora Biomedical’s WormBot. All experiments are livestreamed, allowing you to track in real time how compounds affect test animals.
Pump.Science plays a significant role within the broader DeSci landscape. So where exactly does it fit into the overall DeSci framework? More importantly, how does it help achieve DeSci’s goals? Let’s explore.
What is DeSci?
DeSci essentially connects people passionate about scientific innovation with the world of research funding. Imagine spending your days smoking in a room while chasing the next “shitcoin” in Telegram groups. You might earn $1,000 a day, but you’re also losing precious life moments. How do you avoid wasting time on such habits? By funding scientific progress.
So what role do cryptocurrency and decentralization play in all this?
DeSci fundamentally enables the following:
-
Funding academic research and publications, helping further disseminate knowledge.
-
Improving peer review processes. Open research makes peer review more transparent and efficient, thereby enhancing overall research quality.
Why do we need DeSci? Can’t traditional science (TradSci) meet our needs?
-
Lack of individual autonomy: Bias can permeate scientific research. Blockchain technology can address this—e.g., scientists can verify their work via NFTs.
-
Centralized storage is vulnerable to manipulation: Decentralized storage enables academic and scientific research to exist entirely on-chain, reducing data tampering risks.
-
Citizen science: Independent researchers and scientists from diverse regions can unite and collectively contribute to research.
While it may sound bold, the field of scientific funding and research indeed needs transformation. The current system isn't as fair as idealized—many outstanding contributions from top-tier talent often go unrecognized.
For a domain so impactful to society, pursuing excellence over mediocrity is crucial.
Thus, although the combination of cryptocurrency and science may seem far-fetched, projects like Pump.Science are genuinely encouraging—leveraging crypto’s speculation, meme dynamics, permissionless access, and transparency to drive scientific innovation forward.
In this unique convergence of fields, the possibilities for the future are limitless. To learn more about DeSci and how it addresses challenges in traditional science, refer to our DeSci guide.
I know everyone is eager to jump into the Pump.Science ecosystem. For your safety, we’ll provide a simple participation guide.

Pump.Science User Guide
First, visit the Pump.Science website to view currently running drug experiments. Choose an experiment you’re interested in and trade its token on Pump.Fun.
Remember, experimental outcomes hinge on one key factor: Percentage of Lifespan Extension (PLE).
The higher the PLE, the longer the animal lives, indicating greater compound efficacy. Currently, two compounds are being tested: Rifampicin and Urolithin A.
Here are the steps you should follow:
Step 1: Visit Pump.Science and Review Experiments
Start by selecting the compound you’d like to learn about.

Then, check real-time testing details of the compound on animals—currently, these compounds are first tested on flies.
Step 2: Understand Key Metrics
There’s a lot of information here. Before you get overwhelmed, let me break it down.

First, click the "Chart" button next to the "Feed" button.
The critical metric here is "Count."

It shows the number of flies surviving after receiving the compound. If survival remains at 100% and continues post-treatment, the Percentage of Lifespan Extension (PLE) will be high.
This suggests the compound may advance to the next phase—Stage 3—mouse testing.
Conversely, low survival numbers indicate poor compound performance.
Step 3: View Real-Time Feed
Click the "Feed" button to see real-time footage of the flies. The green "Live" button at the bottom lets you view the live stream.

Step 4: Trade Tokens on Pump.Fun
Check the chart on Pump.Fun and trade the token accordingly.

The Ultimate Goal of Pump.Science
Their objective is clear: harness the energy of cryptocurrency and the desire for wealth to drive real scientific protocols aimed at optimizing human healthspan.
These protocols could support AI agents, further helping us optimize lifestyles. Drugs that ultimately prove successful will move toward actual development.
Additionally, their development team will secure intellectual property rights for innovations and may sell them to bidders.
You can even submit ideas for new compounds here, making lifespan-extending scientific innovation nearly accessible to everyone!
Get involved: Pump.Science encourages investors and users to back their beliefs with capital, letting the market decide the pace of human longevity advancement. It’s undoubtedly one of the coolest things you’ll ever encounter.
Have you ever imagined that a computer-bound enthusiast could contribute meaningfully to science? Now you can!
In a recent discussion, they announced plans to launch 20 new compounds—meaning 1–2 tokens per day, right in Pump.Fun’s sweet spot.
Even if you’re not interested in the scientific aspects of the experiments, the sheer coolness of Pump.Science will impress you. I’ll be closely watching the progress brought by these innovators.
