On June 18, U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump pledged at a rally in Racine, Wisconsin to "end Biden's war on crypto assets."
Trump stated that his goal is to "ensure the future of crypto assets and the future of BTC will be realized in the United States." He also warned that if the U.S. does not seize the opportunity, other countries will.
Additionally, Trump's campaign questioned Biden's broader economic policies beyond crypto assets.
Anna Kelly, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign, described under Biden's leadership “higher prices, lower wages, and stagnant manufacturing” in a statement provided to Reuters.
Reuters noted that the town where the rally was held is home to a controversial factory operated by Foxconn. During his first term, Trump credited the construction of the plant to his pro-manufacturing policies, though the facility ultimately failed to deliver the promised number of jobs.
Trump claimed that his crypto asset strategy would "create opportunities for young people."

Trump’s latest pro-crypto commitment comes after several similar statements.
On May 8, Trump called on the crypto community for support, saying: "If you’re in favor of crypto, you’d better vote for Trump."
Later, on June 7, he vowed to end "Biden’s crackdown on crypto assets." In his statement, Trump referenced Gary Gensler, the chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), appointed during the Biden administration.
On June 12, Trump said he intended for the U.S. to mine all remaining BTC, claiming such a policy would help America establish energy dominance.
As Trump becomes more explicitly supportive of the crypto industry, Biden’s campaign may shift from its perceived tough stance on the sector.
Reports indicate that Biden’s campaign is seeking input from members of the crypto industry as part of an outreach effort. After Trump earlier decided to accept crypto donations through Coinbase Commerce, Biden’s campaign may soon follow suit.
However, Biden’s campaign has neither taken nor confirmed either action. To date, reports of the so-called "plans" have come only from anonymous sources.
