In 2023, as the BTC and BRC20 ecosystems continued to thrive, ZKSpace rebranded to ZKBase, bringing with it a new product roadmap and vision: entering the Bitcoin ecosystem and exploring Layer2 services spanning both Bitcoin and Ethereum. At the same time, we launched an accelerated deflation plan for the ZKS token, burning 400 million unissued ZKS tokens in December 2023. Combined with ongoing platform fee buybacks and burns, the circulating supply of ZKS has dropped to less than 600 million.
To better align with our new product strategy and the rebranded identity of ZKBase, we will open a 1:1 exchange channel from ZKS to the new token ZKB on January 12, 2024, at 16:00 (UTC+8).

Exchange Rules
Holders of ZKS can interact with our frontend interface and migration smart contract to exchange ZKS for ZKB on a 1:1 basis. Exchanged ZKS tokens will be sent to a black hole address and permanently burned.
We have deployed the exchange smart contract on both the Ethereum mainnet and zkSync Era, supporting exchanges on both networks. ZKB on zkSync Era can be bridged to Ethereum mainnet via the zkSync Era bridge.
Notably, major exchanges including HTX and Bitget have announced support for the token swap. Users do not need to manually withdraw or migrate tokens—exchanges will handle the process automatically through snapshot mechanisms, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.

Step 2: Select the network (Ethereum Mainnet or zkSync Era) and connect your wallet
Step 3: Grant transfer approval permission to the exchange contract
Step 4: Exchange ZKS for ZKB. Note that the displayed ZKS balance reflects only the balance on the selected chain.
Step 5: Import ZKB into your wallet:

What's Next
We will launch ZKBSwap, focused on BRC20 token trading, marking our first step toward a BTC Layer2 solution. ZKB will become the platform token for ZKBSwap, and we will provide an ERC20-BRC20 cross-chain solution. ZKB holders will gain benefits from both the ETH and BTC ecosystems. Going forward, 100% of transaction fees generated across both chains will continue to be used for ZKB buybacks and burns, further empowering ZKB holders.
