MATR1X platform raises $10 million in Series A-2 round, bringing total funding to $20 million
MATR1X is a Web3 entertainment platform integrating gaming, esports tournaments, IPs, and NFTs. Its first game, MATR1X FIRE, is also the first shooter mobile game in the metaverse, with over 200,000 registered users.

On November 23, MATR1X officially announced it has successfully raised $10 million in its recent Series A-2 funding round, bringing its total funding to $20 million. The round was co-led by Folius Ventures, a Web3 fund focused on the Asia-Pacific region, and SevenX Ventures. Other notable investors include ABCDE Capital, Find Satoshi Lab, Initiate Capital, Jambo, and 7UP DAO.
This funding comes during a period of rapid growth for MATR1X. Public data shows that its first game, MATR1X FIRE, achieved significant success during its Alpha test in August 2023, attracting 200,000 registered users, over 100,000 game downloads, more than 15,000 daily active players, and an average daily playtime exceeding two hours per user.
Previously, in its Series A-1 round, MATR1X secured investments from top-tier institutions including South Korea’s leading financial institution Hana Financial Group, early Ethereum investor Hashkey Capital, SevenX Ventures, and Amber Group.
Jason Kam, founder of Folius Ventures, said: “In exploring the uncharted territory of Web3 gaming, MATR1X has demonstrated tremendous potential. It has achieved an elegant balance that enables scale, appeals to mainstream audiences, and ensures sustainable profitability—all while completely avoiding the death spiral often associated with Web3 projects.”
MATR1X FIRE, the platform’s first release, is the first mobile shooter game in the metaverse. The founding team hails from globally renowned game studios and brings extensive experience in game development and publishing, having led the launch of numerous well-known titles with over 100 million total active users and generating more than $5 billion in cumulative revenue.
What sets MATR1X apart in the Web3 space is its unique approach, integrating three core pillars—gaming, esports tournaments, and IP-driven creator ecosystems—that mutually reinforce one another. MATR1X is currently developing a gaming trilogy whose narrative universe centers on fundamental Web3 themes: centralization vs. decentralization and the conflict over personal data sovereignty. Its strong emphasis on personal data ownership and enabling cross-game, cross-platform NFT usage has drawn widespread attention from prominent figures in the Web3 community.

It is reported that MATR1X is preparing to launch its third NFT collection, MATR1X KUKU. As a platform-level NFT, KUKU represents MATR1X's IP and creator ecosystem. Holders will have rights to share in the revenue generated by the creator economy on MATR1X, and KUKU also functions as an upgradable combat pet within the game.
Madeira, co-founder of MATR1X, said: “Esports will play a crucial role in the evolution of Web3 gaming, and we are thrilled to be at the forefront of this historic transformation.
Over recent months, multiple regions around the world have been actively promoting the esports industry. The inaugural Esports Olympics held in Singapore has further elevated the region’s global appeal, with shooter games playing a key role. The MATR1X team believes that Web3 combined with esports holds immense potential, and we are committed to bringing this vision to every corner of the globe. Today’s investment marks the beginning of our journey into the next exciting phase.”
