5 Major Crypto Narratives to Watch in April: "ABCDE"
As April arrives, the story is far from over.

March was truly a wild ride. We witnessed a global banking crisis, a 50% surge in Bitcoin, and finally, the “wen Arbitrum airdrop”…
Now that April has arrived, the story is far from over—in just the first four days, numerous stunning events have already unfolded. We’ve seen countless token launches, governance crises more dramatic than romantic comedies, and historic developments. Grab your pens and notebooks, anon, it’s time to take notes!
Of course, I must emphasize that this article is for research purposes only. Do your own due diligence and proceed at your own risk.
A for Arbitrum
Currently, Arbitrum’s governance is in chaos, making this a potentially controversial pick—projects like Treasure DAO and Plutus DAO (with significant voting power) are opposing AIP-1, which could win them favor within the community.
$ARB has been injected with over $1 billion in free funds... yes, free money. As the ecosystem cools down, some promising projects may emerge, including new launches.
Projects to watch: $ARB, $PLS, $GMX, $GRAIL, $MAGIC, $PENDLE, $LODE, with Pepe Games, Sparta Dex, and Wombat Exchange launching soon.
B for Bitcoin
It might hit $1 million within 74 days—or at least that’s what Balaji and Crypto Twitter believe.
When Bitcoin rises, its ecosystem moves too, shaking off persistent FUD.
Projects to watch: $BTC, $STX, $BADGER, $REN.
C for Concentrated Liquidity and China
Forks, decentralized exchanges—take your pick. The Uniswap V3 license has expired, opening the codebase for new developers to freely fork.
Competition between concentrated liquidity exchanges and yield optimizers has begun, with teams racing to launch next-generation liquidity management tools.
$JOE has performed exceptionally well in recent weeks and is likely to maintain dominance with the upcoming launch of “Auto-Pools”—a one-click yield farm built on a liquidity ledger.
$STEAK is the leading optimizer for $JOE and may follow its price action, while $GAMMA and $PILOT are other strong-performing optimizers.
$HERMES and $MAIA are two potential sleeping giants: $MAIA launched the first Uni V3 AMM on Metis and will soon release on Arbitrum. $HERMES V2 includes an improved tokenomics model and TALOS (more details here).
$ICE (Popsicle Finance) remains an unknown variable—we all know the influence of Frog Nation and Dani’s tweets.
Project to watch: $LIT.
The Hong Kong Web3 Festival will take place from April 12 to 15, so Chinese/Asian tokens may see movement. Filecoin and Near Protocol will host panels, and Microsoft will hold an AI lecture.
By the way, Hong Kong will become crypto-friendly starting June 1.
Projects to watch: $FIL, $NEAR, $CFX, $ABC, $KAS, $KEY.
D for Dogecoin
Dog Day started early this year as Elon changed the Twitter logo yesterday. On 4/20 and throughout the month, expect heavy volatility and plenty of $DOGE memes.
As an ecosystem, Dogechain might even spark bidding wars, and other dog-themed tokens could gain attention.
Projects to watch: $DOGE, $DC, $SHIB, $FLOKI.
E for Ethereum Upgrades
$LDO, $FXS, and $RPL are all frontrunners, with $RPL’s Goerli Testnet set to launch sometime this month and hints about $FXS V3 circulating on Crypto Twitter.
Projects to watch: $BTRFLY, $YFI, $USH, $ZERO, and $ACID are popular investment picks, while $PENDLE offers an opportunity to earn solid yields in LSD pools.
Other notable projects:
-
$OP – Optimism’s Bedrock upgrade;
-
$THE – Thena’s Fusion upgrade;
-
$PLS – Plutus DAO tokenomics upgrade;
-
$AURA – Aura Finance launching on Arbitrum;
-
$SNX – Synthetix distributing $OP rewards on $KWENTA.
