Noble: Cosmos infrastructure built for native universal assets and RWA issuance
Noble will become the first native USDC issuing platform in Cosmos and the broader IBC ecosystem.

Introduction
Noble is an application-specific blockchain (Appchain) designed for native asset issuance within the Cosmos ecosystem. This means assets can be minted and burned directly on the Noble Appchain, eliminating the need to rely on token bridges to bring non-native assets into the ecosystem.
Launched on March 27, the Noble Appchain aims to become a "world-class issuance hub for interoperable digital assets." Beyond just crypto assets, Noble enables tokenization and issuance of real-world assets (RWA).

The Problem
Data shows that listings of new non-native assets especially attract more users and liquidity into Cosmos. Users must use bridges to handle non-native assets, but bridges only function efficiently when well-capitalized. Large fund transfers can lead to significant slippage, and users or protocols holding bridged assets are entirely dependent on the security of those bridges.
Most non-native assets aren't listed on Cosmos bridges, limiting liquidity potential and impacting Cosmonauts across each Appchain.

This is particularly true for native stablecoin liquidity—Cosmos suffered greatly after the collapse of Terra’s $UST. Tokens like $USDC, $wETH, $wBTC, and $DAI are all non-native/bridged assets, making up most of Osmosis’ liquidity and driving fees in major pools. However, issuers behind these assets lack a simple way to deploy natively on Cosmos.

The Goal
Noble revolutionizes Cosmos' reliance on bridged liquidity through its "issuance-specific" blockchain. Protocols and companies can easily deploy their tokens on Noble using standard frameworks familiar to all blockchain developers, and tokens issued on Noble can seamlessly transfer across the IBC ecosystem.
Noble's infrastructure gives full control to asset issuers, allowing companies like Circle and Tether to maintain their usual compliance models. This “gateway” built by Noble will significantly enhance IBC-native liquidity, especially for stablecoins.
Noble’s Appchain serves as a supercharged on-ramp for any type of issuer, including institutions seeking to issue real-world assets (RWA). Noble’s role in enterprise adoption of Cosmos appears inevitable.
How It Works?
Noble is built using the Cosmos SDK, a toolkit for building custom application-specific blockchains (Appchains) running on the Tendermint consensus engine. Noble’s Appchain is specifically tailored for deploying token contracts and issuing digital assets.
In addition, Noble supports IBC, enabling connections to over 50 other IBC-enabled Appchains in Cosmos. The network uses “packet forwarding” middleware (the same introduced in Osmosis’ recent v15 upgrade), allowing single-transaction IBC transfers to any Appchain. This dramatically improves the IBC transfer user experience—users no longer need to hop through multiple chains to reach their destination.

Noble was originally planned to launch alongside Interchain Security, but the team decided to wait until ICS has been battle-tested before adopting it on Noble.Interchain Security is a consensus infrastructure that allows IBC Appchains to “rent” Cosmos Hub validators to secure their chain (instead of operating their own validator set). Concerns about ICS center around slashing not being automatic, but rather subject to approval via Hub governance voting.
In the meantime, Noble will use Proof-of-Authority (PoA) consensus. To make PoA the best possible alternative before ICS, multiple trusted Cosmos Hub validators have been selected for the PoA validator set. Misbehaving validators will be permanently removed from the Noble validator set. A 5/7 multisig composed of Cosmos community organizations will also be able to push updates to the chain (which can be rejected by a 1/3+ vote from validators).

Gas fees can be paid in any Cosmos asset, including those issued on Noble. Since $USDC will be the first token launched, it will serve as the primary gas token until more assets are deployed on Noble.
New assets are added to the chain via a 5/7 multisig vote. Issuers can easily deploy their tokens on Noble using Osmosis’ convenient TokenFactory framework. TokenFactory empowers all issuers to customize and control their assets according to their own standards.
Noble supports both cryptocurrency assets and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). This makes Noble the first infrastructure ever purpose-built for broad-based asset issuance, likely attracting interest from institutions such as banks.RWAs offer many potential benefits for traditional markets, such as cost reduction, faster transaction speeds, increased transparency, fractional ownership, and improved market accessibility—well articulated in an OECD 2020 article (PDF).

Partnerships
Through IBC, Noble can connect to dozens of other IBC-enabled Cosmos Appchains.
Circle is the first issuer to launch native issuance of its $USDC stablecoin on Noble, and combined with Circle’s interoperability protocol, this could bring substantial new stablecoin liquidity to the IBC ecosystem.
The Noble team has confirmed ongoing discussions with other asset issuers, including RWA issuers.
The founder of Frax Finance has also mentioned talks with Noble, which would give Cosmonauts a new decentralized stablecoin option and provide $FRAX holders with access to the IBC ecosystem.
The Noble team consists of some of the most respected talent in Cosmos (Zaki, Jelena, Jack, Stefan).
Technical development and promotion are currently guided by Strangelove, a builder organization behind countless influential IBC innovations.
Noble is building an internal technical team to manage chain development and maintenance, while maintaining a formal partnership with Strangelove.
Tokenomics
$FRNZ Price: N/A
Circulating Supply: N/A
Total Supply: 500
Market Cap: N/A
$FRNZ tokens will be issued by Noble to redeem a physical item. They are not intended to be Noble’s native token, but rather to showcase the chain’s capabilities and generate unique enthusiasm for Noble.
The total supply is extremely limited, so each $FRNZ token is divisible into one million “microfrienzies”.
On April 3, 300 $FRNZ tokens (or 300 million microfrienzies) will be airdropped to users on 10 chains based on a snapshot taken on March 27.
Noble will provide 100 $FRNZ tokens as liquidity on Osmosis, Kujira, Wynd, and Crescent, and retain 100 $FRNZ tokens as a “miscellaneous reserve” for distribution to the broader Cosmos community, boosting $FRNZ liquidity, and similar purposes.
One $FRNZ token can be redeemed for a physical Noble bracelet. Anyone can burn 50,000 microfrienzies to gain whitelist access to a special Noble NFT available on Stargaze. Bracelet redemptions will be processed via Swift Protocol on Juno.
Conclusion
Noble’s universal asset issuance chain represents a crucial step forward for the Cosmos ecosystem. Cosmonauts across every Appchain can begin enjoying greater IBC-native liquidity—a direct benefit brought by Noble.
Moreover, Noble has the potential to become a key gateway for institutional and enterprise blockchain adoption. Its potential is limitless—and all of it is built on Cosmos.
