About the Event

In early 2021, we discovered Dali—a pleasant climate, scenic landscape, culturally inclusive and open-minded "human zoo" with a vibrant community atmosphere. Since the pandemic began, Web3 practitioners and digital nomads flocking to Dali have grown exponentially, forming a unique blend of Web3 culture, digital nomad lifestyles, and local traditions. In many ways, Dali has gradually become one of the centers of China's Web3 ecosystem, especially for DAO communities.

This summer, trust, consensus, and passion will converge into tremendous energy. Driven by enthusiasm for technology, exploration of DAO governance and self-organization, reflections on public goods, and visions for the future of communities and Web3, we will host the Dali Web3 Street Festival: WAMO Summer | Dali Web3 Summer Fest on August 19–20.

This is not only Dali’s first Web3 conference but also an experiment and exploration driven by self-organization, collaboration, mutual trust, and co-creation. Organized entirely by a decentralized group of participants rooted in DAO principles, this event stands apart from any previous conference held in China.

WAMO (Roof Cat) Spirit & 3,706 WAMO NFTs

WAMO (Roof Cat) is the mascot and spiritual totem of this event. Inspired by Dali’s traditional guardian beast used to protect homes, WAMO features an exaggerated design. We envision WAMO as the protector of Dali’s Web3 and DAO community, safeguarding our shared values of openness, mutual benefit, collaboration, and open-source spirit.

WAMO embodies the spirit of positive externalities, blessing us to achieve our goals while making the world a better place. WAMO Summer will take place at an outdoor camp nestled beneath Cangshan Mountain and among the clouds. We’ve secured a dreamy meadow capable of hosting thousands. Drawing inspiration from Burning Man and SXSW, our venue design emphasizes diversity, richness, and encourages spontaneous exploration. By combining permanent infrastructure with large modular tents, we’ll establish various themed campsites.

WAGMI Themed Camps

Themed camps will be the most important, open, and romantic part of the event. This space is both our collectively created world and a place to build connections. Each themed camp will be designed and built collaboratively by the event’s builders and participants. All camps and activities will emphasize strong publicness—we ensure that the outcomes and spirit of co-creation belong to everyone.

We hope the WAGMI themed camps will blossom into diverse forms and content. While maintaining overall vibe consistency, each camp team is encouraged to unleash their imagination and experimental spirit, expressing their themes through innovative formats. We aim to grant maximum creative freedom so every builder can construct their ideal Web3 public space, believing this organizational model best fosters diversity and creates a vibrant, inspiring community atmosphere.

What might happen if this camp could change the history of DAOs?

Compared to more focused sectors like NFTs, DAOs are broad and even lack a clear definition. This event brings together dozens of outstanding DAO builders—can we advance the development of DAOs through deep co-creation during this gathering?

This camp will host a series of profound discussions and dedicated DAO booths, offering opportunities for connection and consensus-building.

DeSoc

The co-builders of the DeSoc camp are a group deeply concerned with real human society. Amidst the wave of financialization and assetization in Web3 driven by blockchain technology and market forces, we choose to reflect on how new technologies can make society fairer and life freer.

Under the DeSoc banner, we focus on SBT standards for building DeSoc, public goods funding, radical market theory, decentralized knowledge production, regenerative economic models, and pioneering basic income experiments.

Beyond reading groups and sharing sessions, we plan interactive zones such as speaker corners and product demo booths. We welcome ideas that impact real individuals and societies to step out of idealistic minds and bask in the sun at the DeSoc camp.

Decentralized Society (DeSoc): a co-determined sociality, where Souls and Communities convene bottom-up, as emergent properties of each other to produce plural network goods across different scales.

GameFi

The GameFi track at this Web3 event will be hosted by the RPD guild, aiming to present the latest global developments in GameFi in a fun and engaging way, covering games, communities, ecosystems, and investment topics.

Confirmed topics include “GameFi in Africa,” “Web2 Transitioning to GameFi,” and “Opportunities for GameFi in the Aptos/Sui Ecosystem.” More topics and speakers are being added—join us!

In addition to presentations, we’ll organize hands-on gameplay sessions for promising new games.

We’ll introduce you to GameFi 2.0 in the most relaxed way possible.

NFT

The NFT-themed camp will invite guest co-builders to deliver neutral, informative sessions on NFT fundamentals, NFT technology, NFT finance, and the intersection of NFTs with art and design. Our goal is to comprehensively cover key knowledge areas and applications within the NFT space, ensuring each presentation offers unique depth.

DID

Decentralized Identity (DID) is the starting point of Web3 dApps. Without a system to prove and verify that the real-world “you” controls the digital “you,” none of the social relationships or user behaviors online would be meaningful.

This DID-themed camp gathers open-source protocols and public chains from different domains and ecosystem niches (identity aggregation, social graphs, account systems) to discuss the current state and challenges of DID adoption. We hope to accelerate the maturation of this critical tech infrastructure. You’re welcome to join!

Polkadot Camp

Initiated by PolkaWorld and numerous projects within the Polkadot ecosystem, this camp aims to gather creators under the open skies of Dali. As Web3 goes mainstream, we want to sit on the grass, gaze at the snow-capped mountains, and talk about the future of Web3. Dr. Gavin Wood, founder of Polkadot, coined the term Web3 in 2014 and started developing the Polkadot Layer 0 protocol in 2015. Attendees of this camp are early contributors and builders in the Polkadot ecosystem, deeply influenced by Gavin Wood’s Web3 philosophy, actively creating Web3 applications, products, and protocols based on Polkadot. Everyone is welcome to check in at the Polkadot camp—to explore how to build unstoppable apps in a true Web3 world, gossip, vent, or just enjoy a drink and observe.

Startup Camp

Uniting Web3 founders and aspiring entrepreneurs, this camp helps participants network more efficiently and discuss common startup challenges. No restrictions on sector or stage—if you're walking the path of Web3 entrepreneurship, welcome to play at the Startup Camp! There’s a message wall for free expression of thoughts about Web3 and Dali; lively roundtable discussions on choosing startup niches, overseas community management, legal issues in Web3 startups; and complimentary drinks. Let’s drive the Web3 revolution among the next generation of founders—Dali, we are coming!

"Web3 Composability Odyssey Dali | Web3 Composable Dali Odyssey"

Blockchain, DID, and decentralized storage empower digital citizens, giving Web3 inherent open composability. From August 19–20, the “Web3 Composable Dali Odyssey” camp, curated by M7e Metaverse Task Force, will openly invite founders, technical product leads, and researchers from base-layer protocols, middleware services, upper-layer applications, DAOs, and NFT projects to share and explore the infinite possibilities and prospects of Web3 composability through talks, discussions, demos, workshops, and games.

Digital Nomads

Digital nomads—who work remotely with just an internet connection and a laptop—are gathering in Dali from around the globe. The camp will feature experienced nomads sharing insights, roundtables on remote work, freelancing, Web3, and internet entrepreneurship, and more. Additionally, visitors are invited to co-create—just lift a finger to leave your mark on the digital nomad electronic wall, showing where you've been or dream of going.

Asia-Africa-Latin America Web3

Focusing on Web3 ecosystem development in the Global South. Entrepreneurs, investors, and community observers are invited to discuss topics such as “Macro Overview of Web3 Development in Asia-Africa-Latin America” and “Prospects of Supranational Digital Currency in the Third World.” Scholars specializing in Asian, African, and Latin American economics and culture will interact with the audience. Let’s help more Web3 practitioners discover “the third world, the new world.”

W3+ Open Hardware Tea House

Hardware will play an irreplaceable role in the next generation of blockchain and metaverse development. Spatial anchor computing on blockchains and neural-learning-based spatial deployment create a sense of presence, providing provisioning for next-gen computing resources. We envision this camp as a flowing playground of art, passion, creativity, and love. We’ve prepared impromptu pitches, tea gatherings, hardware crafting, tech stand-up comedy, and reading salons. Just before and after sunset, we’ll host a unique performance atop Hobbit Village cottages, featuring high-caliber DJs from Dali and two alpacas. Dali Culture & Community BUIDL Camp

Dali boasts rich history, culture, and folk traditions, nurturing many youth organizations and local communities. LFG Outdoor Fun Camp

The LFG Outdoor Fun Camp is a sports field built on natural grassland. Professional outdoor enthusiasts will lead activities including frisbee, shuttlecock, rugby, electric skateboarding, board games, and card games inside tents.
