TechFlow, Sept. 8 — According to Coindesk, Nasdaq has filed a proposal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to amend its rules to allow trading of securities listed in traditional digital or tokenized forms on the exchange.
Under the proposal, Nasdaq plans to offer clients the option to trade tokenized stocks on blockchain while maintaining traditional trading methods, with both methods receiving equal priority.
Once approved, tokenized stocks will be cleared and settled through the Depository Trust Company (DTC). Token holders will receive full shareholder rights, including voting and liquidation rights.
